The Salvation Army Mattoon Thrift Store The Salvation Army Thrift Store is a resale shop. We have clothes, toys, furniture, house hold items. Fresh clothing, furniture and household items arrive daily.

The proceeds from these sales fund our programs and services which helps thousands of people every year. Our store offer shoppers the opportunity to purchase brand name clothing, furniture, household goods, sporting equipment, books, electronics and much more at bargain prices.

All Thrift Store sales directly goes back to our Social Services department and stays right here in Coles and Cumberland County! We are serving around 700 families a month with multiple, different resources. Please check us out! Mon-Fri 9am-6pm and Sat 10-4pm.

We have such amazing donors, we are overstocked! We ask that today and tomorrow, no donations be dropped off. Our staff need some time to inventory and get the product out on the shelves. Come see us tomorrow and Saturday for all the great new merchandise!

I believe God calls us to be faithful stewards of His house. As Scripture says, 'It is required of stewards that they be found faithful' (1 Corinthians 4:2). The church building is a tool for ministry and worship, and we honor God when we care for it well.

This is so disheartening. Just 3 days after we paid over $800 on hauling off illegally dumped items, we encounter this. We will be charged an additional $75 to have this picked up. Not pictured is a ransacked pile of stuff blocking our back door.

Friends, please help us help others.

***edited to add: yes, we have cameras with audio and yes, we prosecute every time we are able to identify the person. Dozens of people have been tresspassed and multiple have been charged with illegal littering.

Did you know, our Social Services Department is fully funded by Thrift Store sales as well as community donors?

It's truly amazing how much good we can do with every purchase! The community support through Thrift Store sales and local donors is how we are providing food to over 600 people a month, keeping the lights and water on for another 150 families, providing emergency housing and rental assistance. Your donations help us keep veterans and children fed, clothed and safe.

Exciting news, everyone! Our thrift store will be closed to shoppers from Monday, July 20th to Wednesday, July 22nd for inventory.
