Unspoken Adoration — Week 2

The Bowed Head

In a world that constantly tells us to promote ourselves, worship invites us to do something different: humble ourselves before God.

A bowed head is more than a physical posture—it reflects a heart that recognizes the holiness of God and the reality of our need for Him.

In Jesus’ parable, the tax collector stood before God with humility, unable to boast of his own righteousness. Yet it was his humble posture that opened the door to grace.

When we bow our heads before the Lord, we acknowledge that we cannot save ourselves, fix ourselves, or earn His favor. Instead, we come with open hands and humble hearts, ready to receive His mercy.

Humility is not weakness. It is the pathway to transformation.

When we humble ourselves before God, we position ourselves to receive His grace, experience His restoration, and be changed by His presence.

Join us this Sunday as we continue our series Unspoken Adoration and explore how The Bowed Head becomes a powerful expression of worship.

Fun question: If you could describe your week in a song title what would it be?

A video recap of the last two days. We had a proper Honduras welcome, with the power going out for most of the afternoon and evening yesterday; therefore, no video! So yesterday we continued building a wall and sanding down rust on the ceiling in the morning. Then after lunch, we welcomed the children to help with homework and do another mini VBS.

Today was a bit different, where the women all gathered in the morning and evening for classes with Sarah on women's health. The men continued work projects, making great progress on the wall! Since an important part of our time here is building relationships with those who are here day in and day out, we were blessed to spend some afternoon hours with the Proyecto Alas staff picking mangos, canoeing on a lake, and hearing a testimony from each of our teams.

Honduras Update 🇭🇳
We spent our first full day in Honduras today!
The team hit the ground running, beginning with a construction project to build a wall inside the facility. After that, we led a children's program featuring puppets, games, and a Bible lesson about the hope we have in Christ.
The children at Proyecto Alas were excited to welcome new friends from Marion Methodist, and it was a joy to spend time with them. We wrapped up the evening with games and a message for the youth of Proyecto Alas.
Before heading home, everyone received two bracelets with the phrase “Jesús Me Ama” (“Jesus Loves Me”) as a reminder of who they are in Christ.
