Growing Together: Introducing Our New Children’s Ministry
Children are not just the future of our church- they are a vital part of our church family right now. To help our youngest disciples and their families feel welcome and valued, we are thrilled to introduce several new resources in our church! Please use these tools however you feel most comfortable; none of them are a requirement or an expectation.
Reserved Family Pews: We have designated specific pews for families in the back on the pulpit (right) side, near the family room. This provides extra breathing room and quick access if you need to step out. Please know that families with small children are always welcome to sit anywhere- sitting closer to the front often helps kids stay focused! If you do not have small children but prefer to sit near the back for medical or personal reasons, the back pews on the left side remain open for everyone.
Pew Bibles for Kids: Within these reserved pews, you will find Children’s Bibles for your child to read during the service. Take time to read a bible story together if you have time!
Busy Bags: For the toddlers and little ones, we now have "Busy Bags" filled with quiet, faith-focused activities, coloring pages, and books to keep small hands occupied during the service. These will be available on hooks near the back of church. Remember to grab a children’s bulletin if your child utilizes this resource.
Worship Notes for Older Kids: To help our elementary-aged children engage with the sermon, we are introducing kid-friendly Worship Notes. These activity sheets guide them in listening for key words, drawing what they hear, and applying the message to their own lives. We encourage you to use these to guide family conversation and reflection after the service each week!
Children's Messages: For a trial period, once per month, all children will be invited forward for a special, short message just for them before the main sermon. Parents, feel free to come forward with your children for their comfort, or if you would like to support their focus and behavior.
Encouragement from all members: As an adult member, please take time to offer encouragement to parents with young children. Learn the name of a little soul and make an effort to say hello when you see them!
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me." In that same spirit, our goal is to make His Word both accessible and practical for our children as they grow in faith. Through these new resources, we hope to nurture their relationships with our pastors, our congregation, and most importantly, our Savior.
