Our sacristy remodeling project is complete! Our existing sacristy now boasts new plumbing, cabinetry, lighting, and best of all—a new bathroom. On the other side, the old bell choir room was converted into a vesting sacristy, also with a new bathroom. Thank you to our patient sacristans and worship volunteers who stayed in good spirits as this project took much longer than anticipated. Next time you’re at church, take a peek!

Oh, and fun fact—these rooms were originally offices for the pastors and secretaries back in 1923!

We are thrilled to share that Rev. John Worzala Dumke has been called to serve as the 13th Senior Pastor of Luther Memorial Church! Our thanks to the call committee and church council for their diligent work over the past year, and to the congregation for so freely sharing their dreams for our church's future throughout the discernment process. More details about the transition process will be forthcoming.

While on a recent trip to New Jersey, Pastor Pohlman had the opportunity to visit Rev. Harvey and RuthAnn Peters. Pastor Peters served at Luther Memorial from 1990-1997 and during his tenure the church expanded its social outreach, renewed its mission to the university community, and embarked on an ambitious program to renovate the nave, narthex, and lower level, resulting in the functional and beautiful building we enjoy today. If you remember those days, drop a memory of Pastor Peters in the comments!
