You’re Invited to a different kind of conversation - Reweaving Connection with Listening & Curiosity

At a time when so many conversations leave us feeling frustrated, disconnected, or unheard, what if we practiced something different?

What if we slowed down?

What if we listened more deeply?

What if we became more curious about one another’s stories and experiences?

This six-week listening circle, facilitated by Rev. Dr. Tisha Brown, invites participants into thoughtful reflection, meaningful conversation, and shared practices that cultivate the habits of listening, curiosity, and connection.

Together, we’ll explore what becomes possible when we gather with openness, compassion, and a willingness to truly hear one another.

Current progress on the barrel roofed portion of the new community center building and the projected image of the final result. This is where our worship services will take place, but also a weekly day of public school early education services, piano lessons and many other community events!
We are so grateful to the Threshold Builds team and all of their work to create this gathering space that is beautiful and versatile and embodies the sacredness of beloved community.

There is a great deal of trauma in Madison right now due to the police removal of the encampment and memorial honoring Corey Ruiz in the pre-dawn hours this morning. The WCC staff have been on the ground and behind the scenes, working with clergy and community leaders. This is not the outcome we worked, hoped, and prayed for.

A foundation can be something you pour in concrete—and something you build in your values. Sometimes, it’s both. Last week, as a steel beam was set into place, Adam Johnson, our site’s construction manager with Threshold Builds, shared this:



“This place is built on Love, so it is written in the concrete. Honestly, I don't know what's the bigger privilege, the team I get to work with, or the amazing clients whose vision we see to fruition. This is a special project for all of us, and for the community it will serve.”



Adam’s idea has stayed with us. Because what’s being built here isn’t just housing and a community center, it’s something rooted in care for our neighbors, a more just society, and a healthier environment.

That’s the kind of foundation that carries a project forward long after construction is done.
