The Axis Church began in 2009 as a church plant in the Germantown/Salemtown neighborhood of Nashville, TN. We gather on Sundays at 9AM + 11AM at 1423 2nd Ave North (37208) and we scatter during the week as ambassadors of Jesus Christ and ministers of reconciliation throughout middle Tennessee. Our big vision is to plant churches throughout Nashville and Middle Tennessee and to become an interdependent community of churches.

What are you still holding onto?

In Colossians 2:16-23, Paul exposes the empty promises of self-made religion and reminds us that nothing we add can give us the freedom, peace, or security we’re looking for.

Sometimes we don’t need more. We need to let go.

Jesus is enough.

If you're carrying something from your past this week, this is the place to set it down. Not because we have answers to fix you, but because we worship Jesus, and he's already dealt with it.

You don't have to pretend to have it together. Just show up.

You came to Jesus with empty hands. No portfolio. No list of accomplishments. No spiritual depth or moral resume. Just need. And it was enough.

So why do we think the way forward requires something more?

Paul tells the Colossians the same way you received Christ is the way you keep walking in him. Not adding layers. Not finding a deeper secret. Not switching routes because someone promises something faster or better. Grace at the beginning is grace all the way through.

You don't graduate from grace. The deeper you go with Jesus, the more you realize the same empty-handed faith that saved you is what sustains you every single day. It was always Christ.z

In Colossians 2:6-15, Paul reminds us that Jesus is enough. We came to Him by grace through faith, and that’s how we keep walking with Him.

We don’t need to move beyond Christ to find something more. We were made alive, forgiven, set free, and filled in Christ.

Receive Him. Walk in Him. Never move on from Him.
