The Axis Church

The Axis Church We love Jesus, preach the Bible, & live on mission. // A church in the city, for the city. We love Jesus, preach the Bible, and live on mission.

The Axis Church began in 2009 as a church plant in the Germantown/Salemtown neighborhood of Nashville, TN. We gather on Sundays at 9AM + 11AM at 1423 2nd Ave North (37208) and we scatter during the week as ambassadors of Jesus Christ and ministers of reconciliation throughout middle Tennessee. Our big vision is to plant churches throughout Nashville and Middle Tennessee and to become an interdependent community of churches.

From watching Scott baptize his granddaughter to witnessing an unexpected baptism, the Lord is clearly at work! We’re leaving this weekend with full hearts and a renewed commitment to think on things worthy of praise.

Many people don't walk away from Jesus all at once. It's usually a slow drift—one compromise, one distraction, one misplaced affection at a time.

In Philippians 3:12–4:1, Paul calls us to forget what lies behind, press on toward Christ, and stand firm in the gospel.

Today, we thank God for the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who faithfully love, lead, provide, protect, and point others to Christ.

Fatherhood is a high calling—one that reflects the love, care, and faithfulness of our Heavenly Father. We are grateful for the men who invest in their families, encourage the next generation, and leave a legacy of faith.

To every dad, thank you for the ways you serve, sacrifice, and lead.

Happy Father's Day from your Axis Church family!

Most of us are tired of trying to be the 'perfect' example and failing at it. This Father’s Day, we’re dropping the act and focusing on what it looks like to just keep pressing toward Jesus in the middle of our mess.

Whether you’re a dad, a son, or someone who finds this day complicated, you have a place at the table with us.

Your past failures aren't a disqualification. In a beautiful, messy way, they actually qualify you to experience the depth of God’s grace.

Paul told us to do one thing: forget what lies behind and strain toward what is ahead. That doesn’t mean we pretend the past didn't happen, it means we refuse to let it define us when Jesus already has.

Quit pointing at the sins God has already forgiven.

What’s one thing from your past you need to finally leave behind today so you can strain forward?

Building your life on anything other than Christ is like trying to stand firm on shifting sand. It’s exhausting and it never gives you peace.

We felt that weight as we welcomed over 20 new Ministry Partners into The Axis family, all of us committing to stand shoulder-to-shoulder on the Rock.

This isn’t a social club, it’s a partnership in the greatest mission on earth. We are so much stronger together than we could ever be alone. Tag a friend who makes your faith stronger.

You aren't failing because you’ve stopped trying, you’re exhausted because you’re running toward a goal that was never meant to carry your worth.

If your heart is heavy today, take a second to look at what you’re actually chasing. Is it Jesus, or is it a version of yourself that doesn't exist?
