Today is Ascension Day!

The head that once was crowned with thorns
is crowned with glory now;
a royal diadem adorns
the mighty victor's brow.

The highest place that heaven affords
is his, is his by right
the King of kings and Lord of lords,
and heaven's eternal Light;

the joy of all who dwell above,
the joy of all below,
to whom he manifests his love
and grants his Name to know.

To them the cross with all its shame,
with all its grace, is given;
their name, an everlasting name;
their joy, the joy of heaven.

They suffer with their Lord below,
they reign with him above,
their profit and their joy to know
the mystery of his love.

The cross he bore is life and health,
though shame and death to him:
his people's hope, his people's wealth,
their everlasting theme.

Happy Easter!
Heidelberg Catechism Q & A 45
Q. How does Christ’s resurrection
benefit us?

A. First, by his resurrection he has overcome death,
so that he might make us share in the righteousness
he obtained for us by his death.

Second, by his power we too are already raised to a new life.

Third, Christ’s resurrection is a sure pledge to us of our blessed resurrection.

From Pastor Bryan On October 5, we begin an eight-week sermon series on questions that every believer will face at some point. Does God exist? Who am I? Why is there evil? These type of questions challenge our faith and shape our identity. My hope is that through examining these questions all ages m...

Hail the day that sees him rise,
to his throne beyond the skies.
Christ, the Lamb for sinners given,
enters now the highest heaven.

There for him high triumph waits;
lift your heads, eternal gates.
He has conquered death and sin;
take the King of glory in.

Highest heaven its Lord receives;
yet he loves the earth he leaves.
Though returning to his throne,
still he calls us all his own.

Still for us he intercedes;
his atoning death he pleads,
near himself prepares our place,
he the firstfruits of our race.

There we shall with you remain,
partners of your endless reign,
see you with unclouded view,
find our heaven of heavens in you.

Alleluia!
