🚨Community Information Session: Understanding the Opioid Crisis
Our community, like so many others, has been deeply impacted by the opioid epidemic. It touches families, neighbors, and friends in ways that are often hidden behind silence or stigma.
As a church family, we want to open our doors, share vital information, and offer a space of support and hope.
Please join us this week for an informative and meaningful discussion:
🗓️ When: Wednesday, May 20 at 6:30 PM
📍 Where: Covenant Worship Center
1270 Linkhaw Road Lumberton, NC 28358
🗣️ What to expect: We will discuss how the crisis affects our local area, how to recognize signs of misuse, and the practical resources available to help those who are struggling or recovering.
This event is completely free and open to everyone in the community—whether you are looking for answers for a loved one, work in a field that interacts with this crisis, or simply want to learn how to be a more supportive neighbor.
You don't have to navigate this alone. Let’s learn, heal, and support one another together.
See you there. ❤️
**Please make plans to join us May 20, 2026 @6:30pm for an informative session on the opioid crisis in our county from CORE Program Coordinator, Leslie Locklear.
The stats are shifting in Robeson County. 📉
Recent data for 2025 shows a 9% decline in opioid-related ER visits and a significant drop in fatal overdoses compared to 2023.
The Reality:
📍 Robeson’s rate is still 2x the state average.
📍 Men aged 25–34 remain at the highest risk.
📍 Fentanyl continues to be the primary driver of local emergencies.
We are moving in the right direction, but the work isn't done. New local facilities in are now open to provide immediate help for those in crisis.
Hope is here. Help is local. 🤝
