You're invited to the Back Swamp Baptist Church Interest Meeting led by Pastor Matt Locklear and Debbie Locklear. The purpose of this meeting is to convey the vision and objectives of Back Swamp Baptist Church, discuss its plan for community service and gospel outreach, and identify potential opportunities for partnership and support. This meeting is ideal for those interested in church planting, considering involvement, or seeking more information.

Chaplain Lt. Col. Winston Prentice Fox USAF (Ret) passed on March 17, 2026, at the age of 93, and was a resident of Aberdeen, North Carolina.
Visitation will be held at Aberdeen First Baptist Church, 700 N Sandhills Blvd, Aberdeen, NC 28315, on March 20, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Meadowbrook, 2400 North Walnut Street, Lumberton, North Carolina 28358, on March 21, 2026, at 11:00 am.

Mr. Fox preached at Back Swamp for a season. Very special man to my family and to me. He often came to our Christmas musical services and totally supported my music ministry.

He also financially supported our efforts to restore Back Swamp.

Why plant a new church when there are already churches everywhere?

Paul and the other Apostles were church planters.

The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) is a call to plant churches.

Today was another monumental day at the church. Grateful for those who give of their time, talents, labor of love, and gifts to have the Gospel ring forth from the pulpit of Back Swamp Baptist Church once again.
