Western NC Flood Response
(With apologies for a lengthy post)
Leslie and I, together with Josh Owens from FBC and Todd Padgett, Mt Pisgah Baptist in Fayetteville (he’s preached at our church before) are on the way to Mars Hill University. We are transporting a shower trailer on loan from Robeson County Church and Community Center as well as redeploying muck out buckets, toiletry items and water left from Hurricane Debby.
We want to help. We remember vividly surviving own hurricanes and gratitude for everyone who came to our aid. We also remember the good hearted and well intentioned people who sent supplies we did not need or had no place to store or manner of distribution.
So for now, I encourage you to give to Baptists on Mission: https://baptistsonmission.org/Donate to give.
If you want to donate supplies, there are a number of organizations around collecting.
Please be in prayer for all those affected, the rescuers, responders. And relief agencies.
Special thanks to the local Boy Scout troop at First Presbyterian Church and Stevie Bollinger for the use of their trailer, Adrian Lowery and JW Lawson for the use of their trucks, Lumberton Rescue for equipment, and the NC Conference of United Methodist church, Lutheran Disaster Response and CBFNC for the muck out buckets. — with Leslie Sessoms and 3 others.
The on-going budget for Baptists on Mission comes from the NC Missions Offering. There are also many needs that are outside of the regular budget. Pray for all the 19 different ministries that are supported by the NCMO. You can also make a credit card donation by calling Tina Holder at 1.800.395.510...
