1st G Church

1st G Church Our Vision is “To GROW People in Christ that will GROW People for Christ”. The church has remained a stable witness for Christ since.

First Gethsemane Baptist Church was organized in 1910 as a result of a revival effort of a group of believers desiring a greater Christian witness in an area of Louisville, KY known at the time as “The Bottoms”. Originally located on Floyd Street, the church erected a new building and relocated to Algonquin Parkway in 1972.

Today, First Gethsemane Church joins communities across our nation in honoring the courageous men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We remember their sacrifice, pray for their families, and give thanks for the freedoms we enjoy because of their commitment and courage.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13

May this Memorial Day be a time of remembrance, gratitude, and reflection.
