First, we aim to provide Christians with spiritual nourishment. Mark grow and mature through a lifelong study of God’s Word and diligent use of the sacraments. Christian fellowship also plays an important role as we

praise God together and confess our faith together in worship. Second, we strive to make disciples of Jesus Christ, our Savior from sin and death. Mark exists to seize every opportunity to proclaim the love of Jesus to lost souls in our community and throughout the world. Julia Kay (Freese) Nelson, 64, entered eternal rest on June 30, 2026. She was born June 14, 1962, to Leon and Alida (Brandt) Freese of rural Plymouth. Julie was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Plymouth. After attending high school at Martin Luther Academy in New Ulm, Minnesota, and ultimately graduating from Tri-County High School in Jefferson County, she obtained her nursing degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and worked in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit at Bryan East for much of her career. Julie married Mark Nelson on June 18,1983. They were married for forty-three wonderful years. After retiring from nursing, she focused on her greatest pride and joy, her four daughters. Julie lived a life grounded in devotion to her family and friends, she was loyal and loving, and she was a steady presence for all she knew. Julie was exceptionally intelligent and quick-witted, with a sense of humor that brought joy to those around her. Most recently, Julie filled her days with her grandchildren, book club, bible study, PEO, SWAK, football tailgates, her Friday Afternoon Club, learning how to play Mahjong, and numerous trips with her family and friends. Julie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
