Every Tuesday, the Lexington Eagles partners with our Esperanza Club Afterschool Program to bring the joy of soccer to our children and volunteers!
We’re so grateful for the time, energy, and encouragement the Lexington Eagles share with our Esperanza community. Their partnership gives our children and volunteers an opportunity to learn new skills, stay active, build relationships, and grow together on and off the field.
Partnerships like this remind us that making a difference doesn’t always require a big event or a grand gesture. Sometimes, it looks like showing up each week, sharing your passion, encouraging a child, and creating space for friendships to grow. ❤️

💚 Building Financial Confidence, One Step at a Time
This Wednesday, we’ll wrap up our four-session Financial Wellness Class in partnership with REACH KY!
Over the past four weeks, participants have explored budgeting, saving, setting financial goals, understanding credit, and banking basics.
These practical skills can help our neighbors make informed financial decisions, build healthy habits, and take steps toward greater stability.
Financial wellness is a journey, and every step forward matters. We’re proud to walk alongside our neighbors as they build a stronger future! 💙

🍂💛 Building Community, One Connection at a Time!
What a joy to be part of the Fall Festival at Valley Park! From games and activities to families gathering and neighbors connecting, it was a wonderful reminder of what makes a community special.
At Nathaniel Mission, our heart goes beyond meeting immediate needs. We want to build relationships with our neighbors in Cardinal Valley, listen to their stories, show up at community events, and be part of creating a neighborhood where families feel connected, supported, and valued.
We believe lasting change begins with relationships. It starts by showing up, getting to know one another, and working together to build a stronger community for our children and families.
Thank you to the Cardinal Valley Park Activity Board, our community partners, volunteers, and everyone who made this day possible! We’re grateful to be part of a community that comes together to create spaces where families can have fun, build friendships, and belong. ❤️

Lexington’s Winter Weather Shelter opens **October 29**, just down the road from Nathaniel Mission. We want to be ready to support our neighbors facing cold nights with warm clothing, essential supplies, and a little extra care.

💛 More Than Groceries: A Place to Find Hope

Imagine having to make a difficult choice: pay the electric bill or buy enough groceries to feed your family.

For many of our neighbors, this kind of decision is a reality. When money is stretched thin, even the basics can feel out of reach.

That’s why Mission Market at Nathaniel Mission is about more than food. It’s a place where neighbors can choose the groceries their families need, find fresh and healthy options, and be welcomed with dignity and care.

Each month, we serve around 240 households through our food pantry. Behind every household is a story—a parent working hard to provide for their children, a senior stretching a fixed income, or a neighbor navigating an unexpected setback.

Your generosity helps make sure a difficult season doesn't have to be faced alone.

Through food donations, rescued groceries from local stores, financial gifts, and faithful volunteers, our community is helping put food on tables and reminding our neighbors that they are seen, valued, and loved.

Because everyone deserves food on the table and hope for tomorrow. ❤️

💛 Strong Families. Connected Communities. Brighter Futures.

Our first Family Night of the year for the Esperanza Club Afterschool Program was a wonderful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together to support children and families!

A huge thank-you to CRESTWOOD CHRISTIAN CHURCH for providing a delicious meal for our families! Sharing a meal creates space for connection, conversation, and community. We are grateful for your generosity and partnership. 🍽️

We were also thankful to welcome Cardinal Valley Elementary for a helpful presentation on how parents can be involved in their child’s education. Families learned questions to ask their child’s teacher, when to reach out for help, and how to partner with the school to support their child’s success. 📚

At Esperanza Club, we believe supporting children means supporting the whole family. When schools, churches, and community partners work together, we help build a stronger foundation for every child to learn, grow, and thrive.

What happens when you listen first? You begin to see new ways to help.

This semester, two University of Kentucky College of Nursing students spent their community engagement hours at Nathaniel Mission. Their time with us wasn’t simply about completing clinical hours—it was about being present, listening, and learning from our neighbors.

As they spent time in our Mission Market food pantry, they began to notice an important need: How can we help people turn the foods available to them into healthy, simple meals?
Their answer was a recipe created using ingredients found right here in our pantry.
They prepared the recipe, invited our neighbors to taste it, and sent them home with recipe cards so they could make it themselves.
It’s a small example of what can happen when healthcare education steps outside the classroom and into the community.

Our neighbors help us see the needs. Our partners help us find creative ways to respond. And together, we create healthier communities.
We are so grateful to these UK nursing students for the time, thoughtfulness, and care they brought to Nathaniel Mission this semester. 💙
