Old Union Christian Church, located on Russell Cave Road,
As an active and historical church, founded in1823,
we seek to help people discover a relationship with Jesus in an atmosphere of a faithful community of believers. We believe strongly in living out our faith by loving and taking care of one another and those all around us. Enjoy the beautiful drive through the horse farms of the Bluegra

ss and join us for worship anytime. Times Change, people change. Jesus remains the same and we are people committed to his mission in the world today. We are 191 years old and full of life. We are experiencing the presence and Spirit of God. We are focused on Christ’s mission to the world. We are building a faithful and loving witness to our Lord and Savior. Scott and Susan Winkler

We are a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

Some distinctive usually associated with Disciples include:

* Open Communion. The Lord’s Supper, or Communion, is celebrated in weekly worship. It is open to all believers.
* Diversity of opinion. Each person is free to determine individual belief guided by the Bible, the Holy Spirit, study and prayer.
* Baptism by immersion. In baptism the old self-centered life is set aside, and a new life of trust in God is made possible. Although Disciples generally practice baptism by immersion, they honor other baptism traditions as well.
* Importance of church unity. All Christians should cooperate in ministry whenever possible, affirming each other as sister and brothers in Christ.
* The ministry of all believers. Both ministers and laypersons lead worship, direct service opportunities and nurture spiritual growth.
* Freedom of belief. Disciples are called together around one essential of faith: belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Honoring Our Founders • Celebrating Our Legacy
Old Union Christian Church – Christian Women’s Fellowship

Today we celebrate a beautiful piece of our history. Our new CWF nameplate, honoring the faithful women who founded what was first known as the Ladies Aid Society, will soon be placed on the CWF Memorial. Their hands served, their hearts gave, and their legacy continues to guide us.

As Psalm 145:4 reminds us: “Let each generation tell its children of Your mighty acts.” That is exactly what these women did—and what we continue to do. Through every meal prepared, every mission supported, every act of kindness offered, the CWF carries forward the same spirit of service that began nearly a century ago.

💛 Their legacy lives in us. 💛 And we joyfully pass it on.
If you’re looking for a church family, a place to belong, or a way to serve others with purpose and love, we invite you to join us at Old Union Christian Church. Everyone is welcome—every age, every season of life. Come join us for worship services tomorrow at 11 a.m.

And if your heart is tugged toward fellowship and service, come be part of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. We meet on the last Tuesday of each month, and we would truly love to have you. There is a place for you at the table, and a legacy waiting for you to help carry forward.

The CWF will be honoring Bonnie Morgan, who recently passed away, by participating in the underwear drive at Scott County Public Library. This program collects underwear for elementary school children, boys and girls, ages K to 5th grades, no
toddler sizes please. Socks for K to 1st graders are also needed. This project, called Bonnie’s Booties, is open to the congregation with the last day to donate July 26. Please drop them off at the church and join us for Sunday worship service. You may also make a donation to help the CWF buy these items.
