Located in Lee's Summit, Missouri - Lakeland is a place to hear and apply the way taught by Jesus. Come and see for yourself what God is doing at Lakeland.

Lakeland Community Church began in 1995 in the living room of Dan and Laurie Wilburn. They wanted to create a church for people who didn't go to church. They wanted a place where people who didn't know the drill, the language, the rituals, and the stories could come and hear the life changing message of Jesus in a way they could understand and apply to their lives. This has remained the hope and vision of Lakeland Community Church. Since 1995 Lakeland has met in a daycare, above a restaurant, and in a movie theater. In 2005 Lakeland purchased the All Star Family Sports Arena at 913 N.E. Colbern Road and changed it into the latest home of Lakeland Community Church (keeping one indoor soccer field!)

Each week and throughout the week people of all ages and all walks of life are hearing and applying the Way taught by Jesus Christ. You can find members of Lakeland making a difference for themselves and others on Sunday morning, throughout the week in their homes and neighborhoods, serving the homeless in the inner city, serving special-needs children on Saturday night, and traveling the world to China and Mexico in His name. Explore the claims of Jesus. Join his world-changing movement! Especially if you have never been to church or if you have been burned by church, Lakeland can be a fresh beginning for you!

We had so much fun at our Trunk or Treat event on Sunday!
Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed the sunshine, treats, and activities.

A special shoutout to our Costume Contest Winner, Brighton dressed as Hawk from Cobra Kai, and our Trunk Winner, Lakeland Cemetery.

We hope to you on December 24 at 4p for our Christmas Eve service.

Lakelanders, we are so excited for Trunk or Treat this Sunday!

Here’s what we need from you:
🎃 Host a trunk! We still have 7 spots available to host a trunk. If you are interested, please register on the Church Center app by Thursday.

🍬 Bring candy! We don’t want to run out of candy on Sunday. Please drop off your candy throughout the week in Frankenstina’s brain located in the lobby.

🚗 Park next door on Sunday! If you are able, we ask that Lakelanders park next door in the Early Education Center parking lot or across the street at the library so that we have plenty of spaces available for visitors.

👻 Invite your friends and family! We want this to be our biggest Trunk or Treat yet! Like and share our posts and respond “GOING” to the Facebook event.

See you Sunday! Service starts at 10:30a and Trunk or Treat will begin at 11:45a.

✨ WEEKEND RECAP ✨

What a time of celebration and community!

This past Friday was the Commitment Event for our Belonging & Becoming Vision Challenge. A mini art gallery with pieces submitted by the community, a live painter, music, and a chance for families to pray and see how God will use their Time, Talent, and Treasure over the next two years.

On Sunday, we had our Belonging & Becoming Celebration Event where the lobby was transformed into KC’s best spots and we even had a guest appearance from KC Wolf!

Lakelanders, we need candy and trunk hosts. Do it for the kids. Do it for the memories. Do it so we can make this the best Trunk or Treat yet!
