Please join us as we gather to celebrate the life of our dear friend, Danny Jones, on Saturday, July 25, at 2:45 p.m. at Lee's Summit Community of Christ.

Danny touched countless lives through his joyful spirit and involvement in his church, Special Olympics, Camp Moja, Lake Doniphan reunions, Boy Scouts, and so much more. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome—and if you knew Danny, chances are you were greeted with one of his unforgettable hugs.

Whether you knew Danny for a lifetime or just a moment, we invite you to come together as we honor the love, joy, and kindness he shared so freely. We hope you'll join us as we celebrate a life that brought so much happiness to so many.

Two times per month we wrap diapers for the Little Blessings Diaper program. We partner w/Coldwater of Lees Summit, a food/clothing pantry, to provide diapers for over 100 babies and toddlers.

What an incredible Pride service we hosted today!

Our worship was a beautiful reminder that Pride is not just a celebration, it is vital. It is about recognizing the sacred worth of every person and living out Christ’s call to love, welcome, and belong.

Suzie opened our service with a thoughtful welcome, sharing why Pride matters for the church, for all people, and for all ages. We were blessed to read "A Church for All" by Gayle Pitman and hear powerful testimonies from members of our LGBTQIA+ community, whose stories reflected courage, authenticity, and hope.

Suzie shared a testimony about creating a welcoming and affirming environment for a child with two mothers in her classroom. Others, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, shared moving testimonies of struggle and strife, each a beautiful witness of Christ’s love in action.

Our worship space was filled with rainbow fabric, Pride flags, welcoming and affirming messages, and reminders of the gifts God offers all people: Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. We reflected on the truth that “You are more loved than you will ever know.”

Brynn Ingram and Emily Varner shared a moving music ministry with Spencer LaJoye’s “Plowshares Prayer,” bringing literal tears to many in attendance.

Together we lifted our voices in song, singing from our hymnal, Community of Christ Sings:
• “How Shall We Find You”
• “Is There One Who Feels Unworthy?”
• “Too Often, God, Your Name Is Used”
• “All Are Welcome”

Lin lead us out with a beatiful benediction from "Beatitudes for a Queerer Church" by Jay Hulme.

Thank you to everyone who helped create such a meaningful and spirit-filled worship experience. May we continue to be a church where all people are welcomed, affirmed, celebrated, and loved.

Because love is love. And God’s love is for everyone.
