Yesterday we had our annual Eucharistic Procession and Parish Picnic on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of the Lord. Bishop Bonnici led the parishioners of Sts. John and Paul and St. Augustine in the Eucharistic Procession between the two churches (about 2 miles). After the Eucharistic Procession and Benediction at St. Augustine, hundreds of parishioners gathered for an afternoon of family, fun, food and fellowship on the playground behind St. Augustine Church. More photos and videos will be on the parish website soon!

During this time of Eucharistic Revival, come to grow in your faith and to share that faith in Jesus with others in our community. As we walk with Jesus on the streets of our community, we will pray for peace! Do not be afraid to walk with Jesus!

During the Month of May, we honor the Blessed Virgin Mary. Children in our Religious Education and School each year crown the Blessed Mother with flowers. This May, say an extra Hail Mary each day, or pray a decade of the rosary together with your family!

Thank you to all who participated in our "24 Hours of Adoration" this past weekend. It began with songs of praise in English, French, and Spanish and continued over the course of an entire day with silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. Thanks especially to those who came during the nighttime hours!

Recently we requested a relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis from the Archbishop of Assisi. Not long ago someone went to Assisi on pilgrimage to receive the relic and to bring it back to our community in Larchmont. Bishop Bonnici had the beautiful idea of having a kneeler constructed in which the relic would be encased for prayer in our Sacred Heart Adoration Chapel. A wonderful Catholic from our area, Jim Fitzgerald, built the kneeler, along with some help from his young nephews and it is now in the Adoration Chapel. You can venerate the relic of Blessed Carlo and pray the prayer printed next to the relic; it is a prayer for our community. Blessed Carlo brought many people to Jesus in the Eucharist while he lived on earth. We hope that he will continue to help bring people to Jesus, now here in Larchmont. When you come to the Adoration Chapel to pray before the Blessed Sacrament, ask Blessed Carlo as well to inspire the young people in our community to become witnesses of the Lord’s Presence and to desire to become Eucharistic Saints! If you don't know who Bl. Carlo Acutis is, or if you want to learn a bit more, here's an article: https://denvercatholic.org/coming-to-know-the-real-carlo-acutis/

The Catholic Community of Larchmont hosted a retreat day for all of our young people preparing for Confirmation. The day was filled with inspiring talks, fruitful small group discussions, lots of time for sports, and some good food, concluding with Mass celebrated by Bishop Bonnici. One of the highlights of the day was a virtual visit from Sr. Maria Silva, OP, a Dominican Sister from New York, now living and working in Rome. She talked to our young people about how to live a life that is "fruitful, free, and fun" and shared lots about her religious vocation. There was a time for Q&A and our students asked her some amazing questions about religious life. Pray for these young people!
