🙏 Hoy la Iglesia celebra a Santa Teresa de Calcuta, religiosa y fundadora de las Misioneras de la Caridad, quien dedicó su vida a servir a “los más pobres entre los pobres” y a defender la dignidad de toda persona.

Nacida en Albania en 1910, llegó a la India como religiosa y, en 1950, fundó las Misioneras de la Caridad. Su incansable labor por quienes vivían en situación de pobreza y abandono la llevó a recibir el Premio Nobel de la Paz en 1979. Sin embargo, para ella, el mayor reconocimiento era poder llevar el amor de Cristo a quienes más sufrían.

Santa Teresa de Calcuta murió el 5 de septiembre de 1997 y fue canonizada por el Papa Francisco en 2016. Su vida sigue siendo un llamado a convertir la oración en servicio y a descubrir a Cristo en cada persona que necesita nuestra ayuda. Como ella misma enseñaba: “El fruto de la oración es la profundización en la fe. El fruto de la fe es el amor. Y el fruto del amor es el servicio al prójimo”.

🎁We received a generous gift of blank greeting cards today -- enough for 3 months of cards to our Homebound Parishioners.

👀What we are looking for now is YOU to come and sign the cards -- one Wednesday each month immediately after the 6:50 am Mass all the way until 12:00 noon.

⏰In August, only 1 parishioner was able to stop by in those 5 hours, but our homebound loved ones need to know they are remembered in the parish. PLEASE set aside some time on your calendar to come to the Parish Conference Room. The next date is Wednesday, September 23. Bring a friend!

On this World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, we join people of faith around the world in praying for our planet and all who call it home.

Recent disasters have brought heartbreak to communities across the globe, reminding us that environmental challenges often fall hardest on those with the fewest resources.

As Catholics, we are called to stand in solidarity with our sisters and brothers who are suffering and to care for creation as a sacred gift entrusted to us by God.

May our prayers lead to action, compassion and a renewed commitment to protecting both people and our planet.
