🗓️A little over a week ago, we gathered leaders from across New York City for re-fuel NYC. ⛽️🔋✝️

Catholic youth ministers. Volunteers. Campus ministers. Parish leaders. Creatives. Young adults.

People from different parishes, ministries, boroughs, and backgrounds came together with one shared mission: reaching the next generation with the Gospel.

There was worship. Prayer. Honest conversation. New friendships. Vision casting. A lot of laughter. And a reminder that ministry was never meant to be done alone.

One of the biggest themes of the night was “overflow.”
You cannot keep pouring out if you are spiritually empty.

Thankful for every person who showed up, served, supported, prayed, and believed in what this could become.

This was only the beginning.

Stay tuned for what’s next with re-fuel NYC and Catholic Engagement with Young Life in NYC

What does it mean to be truly ALIVE in Christ while serving in today’s culture?

Last week at re-fuel NYC, I had the opportunity to share a Word Up LIVE talk with Catholic youth ministers, leaders, volunteers, and young adults from across New York City.

We spoke about:
• Mission Territory
• Gen Z & Gen Alpha
• The 5 M’s of Youth Ministry
• Overflow vs burnout
• Pokémon and cultural evangelization
• Being poured into before pouring out
• The call to missionary discipleship

This wasn’t just a talk about ministry strategy. It was a challenge to ask ourselves:
“Are we truly alive?”

Premiering tonight on YouTube.

Would love for you to tune in, share, and join the conversation.

A lot of people see the music, the DJ setup, the performances, or even the workouts… but for me, all of it connects back to one thing: purpose.

Over the years, God has used every part of my life differently. The gym has taught me discipline. Music has taught me how to connect with people. Ministry has taught me how much young people really need hope, authenticity, and someone willing to show up for them. And my family reminds me why I keep pushing in the first place.

I grew up loving hip hop culture, creativity, storytelling, and the energy of the city. Now I’m just trying to use those same gifts to point people toward something bigger than myself.

The goal was never to just music but alway to make disciples. It’s never been about just producing content, but instead about building people up.

Still growing and still learning…. Still hungry for more. Before there was ever a podcast and until the end it’s been

“Mission work” is not only across the globe.

Sometimes mission territory is only a few blocks away.

A young man stopped coming around church.
People knew where he was.
People knew what he was getting involved in.

I asked:
“Can I just pull up to the school?”
“I’ll hang outside the smoke shop if I have to.”

Not because it looks good.
Not because it’s comfortable.

Because souls matter.

A lot of times we wait for kids to walk into church buildings…
while Jesus constantly walked toward people.

As Bishop Robert Barron says:
“The moment you walk outside your church, you’re in mission territory.”

That includes the block.
The school.
The pizza shop.
The mall.
The park.
The places everybody else ignores.

Last night at ReFuel NYC we started singing the Pokémon theme song…

…and somehow it turned into a conversation about holiness, discipleship, and missionary work.

Jesus said:
“Go make disciples of all nations.”

A lot of times we think “mission work” only means going somewhere far away.

But what about the pizza shop?
What about the school hallway?
What about Bay Plaza Mall?
What about the kids right in front of us?

Missionary work starts wherever people are.

The Gospel has always entered culture, language, music, stories, and symbols to reach people where they are.

Sometimes the bridge starts with a song everybody remembers.
