Pastors front porch thought for today!!
James 4:8 tells us that when we draw nigh to God, He will draw nigh to us. That is not just a comforting thought. It is a spiritual law and a personal invitation.
Notice that God does not ask us to fix everything before we come to Him. He just asks us to move toward Him. Drawing nigh means laying down our self-reliance and stopping long enough to admit we need Him. It means choosing His peace over our worry and His truth over our feelings.
God never drifts away from us, but we often let the noise of life push us into the background. The moment you take one honest step in His direction, He responds. He meets you with full grace, strength, and mercy right where you stand.
Take time today to quiet the noise and draw nigh to the Lord. Do your part, and watch how faithfully He does His.

Pastors front porch thought for today!!
From the very beginning, rest was never an afterthought or a sign of weakness. It was God's design. He worked six days to create the world, and then He set the seventh day apart. He didn't rest because He was tired, but because the work was complete. God showed us early on that our worth isn't just about how hard we work, and our souls need time to stop striving.
Hebrews 4:9-10 (KJV)
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Labor Day is a great time to honor hard work, but God invites us into an even deeper kind of rest. Resting in Him means dropping the heavy burden of trying to do everything in our own strength. It means trusting that the same God who holds the universe can handle tomorrow while we quiet our minds today.
Lay down the anxiety and stop trying to fix everything on your own.
Let your spirit recharge through quiet time, prayer, and reflection.
Remember that God is your real provider, not just your daily hustle.
Matthew 11:28-29 (KJV)
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Whatever worries or projects are weighing on you today, hand them over to the Lord. Step back from the grind, catch your breath, and enjoy the gift of rest. In His presence, your soul can finally relax.

🙏 Nehemiah: A Man of Prayer

Today we learned that before Nehemiah took action, he prayed first. We used our coloring sheet as a fun reminder that we can talk to God anytime, anywhere, and about anything. ❤️

Our prayer is that our kids learn early
before you worry, pray! 🙏

Not to late to make it to our 11:00 service ⛪️

Pastors front porch thought for today!!
Ecclesiastes reminds us that there is a time and a season for everything under heaven. Life shifts quickly. One month brings warmth and abundance, and the next brings cold winds and heavy burdens. People come and go, our daily circumstances flip upside down, and the seasons of our hearts change when we least expect it.
The good news is that God never changes. The same God who walked with you through the sunny days is holding your hand through the stormy ones. He does not love you any less when life gets hard, and His strength does not fade when yours runs out. When everything around you feels uncertain, you can rest in the simple truth that your Creator remains steadfast, faithful, and good in every single season.

Pastors front porch thought for today!!
What comes out of a cup when it gets bumped is whatever was inside it. Life has a way of bumping into us, shaking us up, and testing our patience. When that happens, what spills over onto the people around you?
Scripture reminds us that our words and actions flow directly from what we store up in our hearts. Luke 6:45 says that a good person produces good out of the good stored in their heart, while an evil person produces evil out of the evil stored in theirs. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
If someone takes a sip from your cup today, what flavor do they get?
Is it the bitter taste of frustration, judgment, and impatience?
Is it the refreshing taste of kindness, grace, and honesty?
Is it filled with encouragement that lifts people up, or complaints that pull them down?
We cannot pour out peace if we are constantly filling ourselves with anger. We cannot pour out love if we hold onto resentment. Galatians 5 lists the fruit of the Spirit as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. That is the kind of refreshment our world desperately needs.
Take a moment today to examine what you are drinking in through your eyes, your ears, and your thoughts. Fill your heart with God's word, His grace, and His peace. That way, whenever life shakes your cup, the only thing that spills out is something that heals and refreshes everyone around you.

Serving the Lord isn’t just something we do,it’s where true joy is found.
When you give your time, lend a helping hand, or simply share a little love with someone who needs it, your own heart gets filled right up in the process. There is so much peace in knowing that God uses our hands and feet to be a blessing to others.
"Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing." Psalm 100:2
It doesn't take big, grand gestures to make a difference. Just a willing heart ready to show up and serve Him every single day.
