Resolution means to resolve a problem or bad situation. We all have "problems," so we make "New Years Resolutions" to change things in our lives to "resolve," or correct, whatever the problem or situation is. For most of us, even though we have good intentions, these "resolutions" seem to dissipate in our lives within months, weeks, or even days. This is due to the fact that just as the gospels of Matthew and Mark tells us, "the spirit IS willing, but the flesh is weak." In my study and prayer time this week, The Lord revealed to me that in order to get all of our problems or situations "resolved," we have to start on the inside! Just like we feed our physical body with food, we must also feed our spirit man with spiritual food. In order to have the faith and strength that we need to keep doubt and unbelief from creeping in our lives, we have to continually EAT the word of God, for Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. The answer to every problem that we have, no matter what it is, is not in the declaration of a "New Years Resolution," the answer comes when a man or woman has been strengthened from the inside out by the word of God! When a person that is full of faith and fully trusting in God, and the promises of God, there is not a problem or situation that they will not overcome! So it seems to me, we all have only one New Years Resolution that needs to be made, and that is to spend more time in Gods word, problems SOLVED! -Kenny Dodd
