Our bed building event is going strong. Over 100 people showed up to help build the 50 beds!

BED BUILD – Saturday, August 29
Come join us Saturday, August 29 from 10 am to 2:30 pm as we build beds with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to provide beds for children in our community who don't have one to sleep in. The organization brings all the building supplies and equipment. They also provide guidance so you don't have to be an expert at cutting boards or assembling the beds. Just have a willing heart. Volunteers need to be 5 years and older. Those under 12 must always be accompanied by a parent. A pizza lunch will be provided. West parking lot of Concord United. 🚐💙 Some days, ministry arrives in a van... and what a beautiful sight it is!

A heartfelt thank you to Concord United in Knoxville, Tennessee, for making the six-hour roundtrip journey to bless our community. They arrived with a van overflowing with donated food, back-to-school supplies, feminine hygiene products, sweet treats, and so much more.

Our smiles couldn't have been any bigger—any wider and they just might have exploded with joy! 😊 It took eight volunteers to unload all of the incredible blessings they brought.

Concord United has become such a faithful partner in ministry, and their generosity reminds us that God's love knows no distance. Every item they shared will become a blessing to a family in our community, and every mile they traveled speaks volumes about their kindness and servant hearts.

From all of us at Elk Garden School Community Ministry—and especially on behalf of the families we serve—thank you for your unwavering generosity, your friendship, and your love. We are truly grateful to be serving alongside you. ❤️

Many thanks to all who donated school and pantry items to our friends at Elk Garden in Rosedal, VA. Our van was full when it left yesterday morning on its 6 hr round trip. Thanks to Jennifer and Scott Anderson for driving and making the delivery. Over 2000 school items and over 1000 food items sent to help with their back to school day on Saturday and to stock their food pantry. What a great way to Share Christ, Serve Others and Grow in Faith!

JUSTICE KNOX
July 8, we’ll gather for Community Care Night dinner at 5:30 pm and at 6:30 pm welcome Marjorie Thigpen-Carter, Lead Organizer of Justice Knox. Marjorie will share how Justice Knox brings congregations and community organizations together to listen, research, and take action on important needs in Knoxville and Knox County. We hope you’ll join us for this meaningful evening of learning and connection. Please join us to learn more.

We engage in listening, research, direct action and follow up to solve problems at their roots. We take on problems like the affordable housing crisis, needs in our mental health care system, problems facing our schools, inadequate public transportation and community gun violence.
