Westminster Presbyterian Church Knoxville

Westminster Presbyterian Church Knoxville Where Faith and Life Connect We seek to glorify God and celebrate God's presence through music and prayer, word and sacrament.

We seek to follow Christ in an open and inclusive community of faith where God's transforming love for all creation is celebrated through worship, discipleship, and service. We seek to grow and mature as disciples of Jesus Christ by growing our faith, in our understanding of the world around us, and in our relationships with one another. We believe our calling as a community of faith is to continue Christ's own ministry of service in our community and in our world. We don't claim to have all the answers, but we think it is important to struggle with the questions of faith as we seek to do justice where we are, to nurture one another in mutual support, and to walk humbly with God. Our vision is to be an inclusive community where faith and life connect.

🍂 Foyer Groups are back! 🍽️

Fall is just around the corner, which means it’s time to start organizing our next round of Foyer Dinner Groups!

Traditionally, Foyer Groups are small groups of adults who gather in one another’s homes to share a meal and get to know each other. But this year, we’re offering more options to make Foyer Groups work for more people!

When you sign up, you can let us know if you’d prefer:

🏡 An adults-only group — with the option to arrange a babysitter
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 A group that includes children
⛪ A group that meets at Westminster — perfect if you’d rather not drive far or at night

Whether you’ve been at Westminster for years or you’re brand new, Foyer Groups are a great way to meet people, share a meal, and build community beyond Sunday morning. ❤️

đź“… Sign up by Sunday, September 27!
Groups will be assigned by the end of September, and you’ll hear from us shortly afterward with your group information.

👉 Sign up here: https://www.wpcknox.org/foyer-group/

Come to the table. Make a connection. Find your people.

On August 8, the Presbytery of East Tennessee gathered to examine our new Associate Pastor, Nolan Chilton. After a thoughtful and meaningful examination, Nolan was approved unanimously! 🙌

We are so excited to welcome Nolan into this new season of ministry and look forward to all that God has in store. His first day in the office will be September 14, and we can’t wait to have him with us!

Welcome, Nolan! ⛪️💚

There will be a showing of the documentary At the River, on Tuesday, August 18 at 7:00pm at Westminster. At The River explores the courage of a few southern Presbyterian ministers who, during the Civil Rights era, spoke out against segregation and white supremacy. Through sermons, marches, and community action, they faced threats, criticism, and loss of their pulpits. The film has sparked conversations about race, faith, and social responsibility across diverse audiences throughout the Southeast and beyond.

Today marked a wonderful Rally Day to celebrate this community and look forward to another great year together.

Praying for peace.

We hold in our hearts the people of the Islamic Center of San Diego - ICSD, as well as the wider Muslim community. We mourn those who have died in the recent attack there and seek to be part of a web of support for those who grieve the loss of their loved ones. No one should have to fear violence at their school or place of worship. May God work through us, and so many others, to bring about justice, bring about peace, bring about healing.
