The 20th Annual Pasta & Bluegrass Festival supporting Family Promise was a huge success. Good Shepherd was proud to contribute TWO pastas again this year. We received a lot of compliments on each of our pastas. We served: 1) Buffalo Chicken Pasta and 2) Red Thai Curry Noodles w/ optional Ahi Tuna. Without the tuna, the Thai dish was vegan and gluten-free! Both were delicious!

Many thanks to Vonnie Hastings, Sarah Booher, James Massey, Michael Geasland, Fletcher Morrison and Jennifer Morrison for preparing a total of 26 pounds of pasta, 10 pounds of bok choy, 5 pounds of chicken, 4 pounds of cream cheese, just to name a few of the ingredients.

We would also like to thank David Gayk, Joanne, Don Hastings, Adam Ballintoy, Owen Neisler, Jonah Geasland, Kelly Geasland, Kevin Blue, and Veronica Morrison for attending and serving pasta at the event.

We have some leftover pasta in the kitchen if you’d like to fill a to-go box and consider making an extra donation to Family Promise!

Last Sunday, Good Shepherd was filled with joy, grace, and holy celebration as The Rt. Reverend Brian Cole joined us to welcome Deacon Adam Ballintoy to Good Shepherd. Bishop Brian also confirmed Lucas McAfee, Kalyn Killingsworth, and Becky Shirley; received David Gayk and Andrew Walters into the Episcopal Communion; and baptized two beloved children of God, Phoebe Massengill and Cricket Walters.

After the service, we gathered in the parish hall to continue the celebration, sharing fellowship, gratitude, and a truly abundant feast.

Welcome to Church of the Good Shepherd 10 am Eucharist This morning we gather for one joyful service at 10 am as we warmly welcome Deacon Adam Ballintoy, who will soon become our priest-in-charge. We are also grateful to welcome the Rt. Reverend Brian Cole, who will baptize two individuals, confirm three, and receive two into the church. Please join us as we celebrate this grace-filled day in the life of our parish!

Bluegrass & Barbeque Brings the Community Together
What a wonderful evening at Good Shepherd! More than 100 guests gathered to enjoy the high-energy, wonderfully talented Grassy Creek Bluegrass Band from Gatlinburg, along with finger-licking BBQ and fixins'.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening possible: the patrons of the Good Shepherd Art Series for their financial support; the Men’s Club for preparing the delicious BBQ; and all who helped with setup, cleanup, and washing all those dishes. We are especially grateful to Matthew Fisher, founder and lead organizer of the Good Shepherd Art Series.
