Rev. Kimberly Stuart Isley-Selby Sand Branch Pastor 2001-2005
The Rev. Kimberly Stuart Isley-Selby, 59, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center. Kimberly lived a life marked by deep faith, remarkable intelligence, compassionate ministry, and an enormous heart for others. She devoted herself to caring for people, offering encouragement, wisdom, and love to all who knew her.
Born in Louisville, Kentucky, on August 20, 1966, Kimberly was the daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Walter Andrew Isley, Sr. and Rev. Carolyn Wooten Isley. She attended Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, before transferring to Ballard High School in Louisville, Kentucky. Following graduation, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Louisville and later received her Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her first husband, James “Bill” Beard; her father, Rev. Dr. Walter Andrew Isley, Sr.; brother-in-law, Gary Selby; maternal grandparents, Willie Blanche Farrar Wooten and Charles Burton Wooten; paternal grandparents, Branson Isley, Sr. and Sadie Weems Isley; and her beloved dog, Lil Guy Beard.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Daryl Selby; daughter, Kaitlin “Katye” Marin Isley Beard and future son-in-law, Tucker Mueller; mother, Rev. Carolyn Blanche Wooten Isley; brother, Walter Andrew “Drew” Isley, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Diana Payne and Gina Selby Compton; brother-in-law, James Selby; nephews, Spencer and Mason Isley; special friends, Wanda Caldwell, Catherine Selby, Travis Christian, Shaun Street, Nancy Bach Sepehr, Tara Riddle, and Susan Lyttle, Bucky Farnor and John Edwards; and her cherished cat, Sparkle Wayne Selby.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the dedicated doctors and nurses at Indian Path Community Hospital, Johnson City Medical Center, especially those in the MICU, as well as their Vermont United Methodist Church family, for the love and care shown during Kimberly’s illness.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Vermont United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott Spence and Rev. Walter Cross officiating.
