Deaf Ministry in Ohio
In northern Ohio, God is blessing a ministry unlike any I have ever seen. It is a ministry focused on reaching people who are often overlooked in society—the deaf community. Many who cannot hear are frequently left out because of the communication barriers they face, but that is not the case at Life Sign Deaf Baptist Church.
At this church, people are welcomed, cared for, and deeply loved by Scott Crabtree and his wife, Tricia Crabtree. Since coming to the ministry in 2018, they have faithfully served this community, and God has provided in incredible ways. The church now has a building that has recently been paid off, a testimony to God’s faithfulness and provision.
This is truly a ministry you need to experience firsthand. We were able to see the effort, patience, and compassion required to communicate with people who cannot hear, and in some cases, those who also struggle with sight loss. It was a powerful reminder that the Gospel is for everyone. Mission dollars are being used to build the kingdom of God by reaching people who are too often forgotten.
Statistics say that nearly 98% of deaf people have never heard a clear presentation of the Gospel. That alone shows why ministries like this are so important. It was a unique and moving experience to watch people who could not hear, and many who could not speak, worship God with joy and sincerity. At the end of the day, whether someone is deaf or hearing, blind or seeing, Jesus loves them and is worthy of their worship. Every person can worship God.
