Tuesday at Annual Conference began early for those who ran in the 5K or walked 1 mile to benefit Ripples of Faith Kenya Mission, sponsored by Dismantling Racism. The winner of the race was Rev. Robert Kariuki Nyaga who is projected to serve Gate City UMC starting in July. Appalachian District pastors Rev. Kathy LaFollette and Rev. Pfungwa Muyambo, and district Finance Manager Betty Yeomans-Barton also participated.

Five of those churches were from the Appalachian District!
