Dean had another night of coughing so he’s tired this morning. Everything is moving in the right direction. They switched him from IV amiodarone to a pill yesterday. Today they switched his 3 different antibiotics to an IV drip that has all 3 in one. Dr. Dolan, the surgeon, just came by. He said that among all the bacteria found in Deans biopsies, there was actually one he had never seen before. The ID doctor will come around and give us more information on the biopsies and what the plan is to get us out of here. Dr. Dolan will follow up with Dean every 4 weeks until he has enough muscle build up to do another big surgery. The bronc stem is too short to put a valve in so the only choice to plug that hole is to have a plastic surgeon remove some muscle from Deans back and the thoracic surgeon will use it as a plug. This is a must do operation in order to keep the infection out. There is of course another option. We are praying that God closes the hole and would appreciate it if you would join us in praying for yet another miracle. Thank you prayer warriors.

For those who are aware of our former pastor, Dean Blankenship, health situation here is an update from his wife, Nadine, today. We ask and appreciate all that will continue to pray for his recovery. Also, anyone interested in sending encouragement notes and get well wishes may do so to: Dean Blankenship

We appreciate everyone's prayers and concern.

⚠️ Annie Armstrong lived in a time when it was easy to look away.
Away from forgotten towns.
Away from struggling churches.
Away from missionaries laboring in hard places with little support.

✨ But Annie couldn’t do it.

👉 She saw the need, and she refused to stay comfortable.
She saw the mission, and she refused to stay quiet.
She recognized the church’s responsibility and refused to let it be ignored.

So she wrote.
Thousands of letters.
She traveled.
Miles and miles.
She pleaded with churches to pray, to give, and to care deeply about gospel work happening beyond their walls.

Annie believed something that still challenges us today:
that obedience is rarely convenient, and faith is never passive.

She never helped physically plant a church.
But because she said yes to God’s call, missionaries were sent, churches were planted, and the gospel moved forward across North America.

What Annie offered wasn’t just effort.
It wasn’t just time.
It wasn’t just money.
It was a life fully surrendered to God's mission.

More than a century later, the work continues, not because of one woman, but because the Church keeps answering the call she helped sound.

And now, the invitation still stands.

To pray.
To give.
To believe that God will do above and beyond.

Because this has always been more than an offering.
More than a name.

More than a gift. 💙

Callout to help with disaster relief

I received a call from North Carolina Baptist asking for help in Linden Tennessee. This is a little southwest of Nashville TN about 6 1/2 hours from us. They are needing chainsaw crews. I'm asking our churches to please put this out to your congregations Sunday. Right now I'm seeing if there is any interest before looking at dates. Please let me know as soon as possible if anyone is interested.

We are saddened once again to share the news that a life long resident of the Leemaster neighborhood, Mike Hagy, passed away this morning. Mike, on the left, is shown here with his son Jake, who preceded him in death, as they were working at the food pantry.
Please remember Mike's family in prayer.
Arrangements will be shared when available. Thank you.
