A moment worth celebrating. ๐๐
Recently, Michael Byrd rang the bell, marking the end of a difficult chapter in his cancer journey.
A veteran, skilled carpenter, and longtime Outer Banks resident, Byrdโs life changed in an instant when he was diagnosed with lung cancer. Treatment brought hope, but it also brought challenges. As the physical toll of cancer made it impossible for him to continue working, the financial burden quickly became overwhelming.
Through ICOโs Cancer Outreach Program, Byrd received assistance with transportation costs to treatment, help with essential living expenses, and connections to additional community resources throughout his cancer journey.
Today, this bell represents more than the end of treatment. It represents strength. It represents hope. It represents what can happen when a community comes together to support one another through lifeโs toughest battles.
While Byrd celebrates this milestone, many others in our community are still fighting their own cancer journey.
Your support helps provide practical assistance to local cancer patients facing transportation costs, housing expenses, and other critical needs while undergoing treatment.
A gift to ICOโs Cancer Outreach Program stays right here in our community and helps ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
