As a parish in the Episcopal Church in the United States of America (ECUSA), our worship is shaped by almost 2000 years of catholic liturgical tradition, 500 years of particular Anglican expression, and 200 years of American experience. The Episcopal Church has a long history of expanding inclusion and affirming the dignity of all people. Rooted in scripture, tradition, and reason, Episcopalians seek to follow Jesus by loving our neighbors and respecting the dignity of every human being.

In 2003, The Episcopal Church consecrated Gene Robinson, the first openly gay bishop in the Anglican Communion. Since then, the Church has continued to affirm LGBTQ+ people through marriage equality, ordination, and leadership opportunities throughout the Church.

At St. John’s Episcopal Church, we celebrate this ongoing journey toward justice, compassion, and belonging.

Bishop’s Visitation & Confirmation
ONE SERVICE – 10:00 am

There will be one service at 10:00 am this Sunday, so everyone can be present and enjoy this great feast and celebration with the bishop.

Pentecost celebrates the gift of the Holy Spirit and the gift of the gospel in all the languages of the world and is one the three great feasts of the church year.

A reception will follow the 10 am service in the Great Hall.
