Joy needs no translation. 💛

The laughter. The dancing. The smiles.

These incredible children are part of Okoa's newest Community Empowerment Program in Kenya, and their joy is a beautiful reminder of what's possible when children are given the opportunity to flourish within their families and communities.

Through education, discipleship, counseling, and practical support, we're walking alongside vulnerable families to help build a brighter future—one child, one family, and one community at a time.

Today, we're celebrating the joy. Tomorrow, we're continuing the work.

Today, we celebrate the men who choose to show up.

The fathers, foster fathers, adoptive fathers, grandfathers, mentors, pastors, and father figures who love, guide, protect, and sacrifice for the children in their care.

At Okoa, we've seen firsthand how one caring man can change the trajectory of a child's life. Whether through biological family, foster care, adoption, mentorship, or simply being a steady presence, these men reflect the heart of our Heavenly Father—the One who adopts us as His own, never leaves us, and loves us unconditionally.

To every man who has stepped into the gap for a child, thank you. Your influence reaches farther than you know.

Happy Father's Day.

"The father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling." — Psalm 68:5

At Okoa's Residential Rescue Center, children who have experienced abuse, neglect, trafficking, or abandonment find immediate safety, stability, and compassionate care. Some children stay with us long-term, while others are reunited with family or placed in a safe, loving home as quickly as possible.

But none of this happens alone.

When you join our Care Team as a monthly partner, you become part of the village surrounding these children. Your generosity helps provide meals, medical care, education, counseling, discipleship, loving caregivers, and the resources needed to help every child heal and thrive.

You may never tuck a child into bed at Okoa, but your support helps make sure they are cared for every single night.

Will you join the Care Team and help provide hope, healing, and a future for vulnerable children?

After preparation, training, and faithfully following God's call, our 11th missionary has officially arrived in Chad with his family.

They have left behind what is familiar to serve among unreached people groups—communities where many have never had the opportunity to hear the Gospel.

This move marks the beginning of a new chapter, but also brings new challenges: learning language and culture, building relationships, raising children in a new environment, and sharing Christ's love in places where His name is not widely known.
Would you join us in praying for them?

🙏 Pray for protection and good health.
🙏 Pray for wisdom as they navigate a new culture.
🙏 Pray for meaningful relationships and open doors for ministry.
🙏 Pray that many would come to know the hope found in Jesus.

The harvest is plentiful, and we are grateful for those willing to go.

POV: You went on a mission trip to Okoa.

You met children whose laughter fills the room.
You sat with families overcoming impossible odds.
You witnessed justice being pursued, lives being restored, and hope taking root.

And somewhere along the way, Africa stopped being a place on a map and became a place in your heart.
The best part? The story doesn't end when you get on the plane home.

You can continue making an impact by sponsoring a child, joining our monthly giving community, advocating for vulnerable families, or taking the next trip with us.

Come see what God is doing through Okoa—and discover how your story can become part of theirs.

Two days old.

That's how old Hope was when she arrived at Okoa's Residential Rescue Center.
Today, she is 13 years old—growing, learning, laughing, and thriving.

We believe every child deserves the love of a family, and we know that institutional care is never the ideal long-term solution. But when children have nowhere else to turn, they need a safe place where they are protected, nurtured, and given the opportunity to heal.

For the past 13 years, Hope has been surrounded by caregivers, teachers, mentors, and a community committed to helping her become the young woman she is today.
Her story is a reminder that while rescue is the beginning, restoration takes years of faithful care.

Will you help provide that care for children like Hope?

Your gift to Okoa's Residential Rescue Center helps ensure vulnerable children receive the safety, love, education, and support they need to flourish.

When families are trapped by poverty, the barriers can feel impossible to overcome.

A child can't attend school because there's no school fees. A parent can't provide because they lack vocational skills. Trauma, isolation, and hopelessness make the path forward even harder.

That's why Okoa's Community Empowerment program exists.

We walk alongside vulnerable families, helping remove the barriers that keep them stuck through education, vocational training, counseling, and discipleship. Together, we're creating opportunities for families to build stability, restore hope, and create lasting change for the next generation.

Why “Okoa”...
Okoa is a Swahili word that means to save, rescue, or redeem. We believe God desires to save, rescue, and redeem all people — and that He calls us to be part of that work.

Through every child protected, every survivor defended, every family strengthened, and every life reached with the Gospel, we see redemption unfolding day by day.

“Okoa” is more than a name. It is the mission God has placed before us.
