“Holy Habits: Simplicity”
Matthew 6:25-34

While a “full” life is what we are all striving for—a life that is satisfying, rewarding, and meaningful—what we often end up with is the feeling that life is just over-filled: too many obligations, too much information, too little time and too little room to breathe. Simplicity is the discipline of saying “enough” when we have the ability to say “more.” It’s not easy to do in this day and age, and it’s probably more important than ever.

Join us this Sunday at 8:30 or 11:00 for worship as we gather in faith, fellowship, and community. We look forward to worshiping with you!

With All Hallows’ Eve just around the corner, halos were entirely optional, though many of you were spotted wearing one anyway! As All Saints’ Day approaches, we are reminded to ask: What is a saint? My understanding is that a saint is, in essence, someone who gives life to others. All Saints’ Day offers a meaningful opportunity to remember those who touched our lives through quiet service, a steady presence in difficult times, and faithful responses to God’s call.

That spirit was alive and well on Wednesday at Mayport Market! Our 24 volunteers distributed 6,084 pounds of food, serving 226 families and 714 neighbors in our community. Every bag of groceries represented more than food—it was a reminder that kindness, compassion, and God’s love were being shared in a very tangible way.

Thank you to 913 Church for welcoming us so warmly into our new home, and to BEAM, Palms Presbyterian, Southside Christian Church, and every volunteer whose generosity made this day possible.

Angels and saints were all around us. Sometimes, they even handed you a bag of groceries.

Each month, Palms volunteers, affectionately known as the “Taco Bells” bring more than a hot meal to our unhoused neighbors at Mission House—they bring compassion, dignity, and a powerful reminder that no one is forgotten. Through preparing and serving meals, these dedicated volunteers help build connections, strengthen our community, and offer hope to those who need it most. It’s a meaningful expression of God’s love in action, one meal, one conversation, and one person at a time. THANK YOU!

Wednesday Reminder: You don’t have to have it all figured out. Just keep moving forward, keep showing up, and trust that God is working—even in the moments you can’t yet see the bigger picture.

Take a deep breath. Choose gratitude. Give yourself grace. And remember: God’s got you, even on the days when you’ve got a lot on your plate.

This Saturday from 10 a.m.–12 p.m., Trunk or Treat is coming to Palms! And we still need plenty of volunteers. Don't have time to decorate your trunk? Come hand out candy!

Put on your favorite costume, bring your best trick-or-treating spirit, and get ready to gather treats, share some laughs, and have a spooktacular time!
