Good Courage Farm

Good Courage Farm Good Courage Farm is home to an agrarian ministry in collaboration with The Episcopal Church in Minnesota.

This beautiful regenerative farm grows good food for neighbors and welcomes all to come sing, pray, work, break bread, and rest together. During the growing season, the farm hosts weekly Pie + Prayer (worship and fellowship for all ages) and welcomes groups and individuals for workstays, learning events and retreats. The farm is always seeking partners in the work of giving good food away to folks

who can't access delicious, local, sustainably grown produce due to the barriers and inequity inherent in our food system. Reach out if you're connected to a food justice ministry or dreams of one! Good Courage welcomes inquiries about our 2023 seasonal apprenticeships at the intersection of food, farming and faith (housing in intentional Christian community is provided).

Beginning Saturday, April 5:

Give your faith (literal) roots this year as an ORCHARD STEWARD at Good Courage Farm. Every FIRST SATURDAY of the month, Orchard Stewards gather on a regenerative fruit farm in Hutchinson to sing, study scripture, break bread, and learn the art of tending fruit trees. The fruits of our labor will feed those who hunger through our partnerships with First Nations Kitchen, Casa Maria, and McLeod Emergency Food Shelf.

We'll dig into sacred texts about seeds, roots, pruning, and fruit that lasts. You'll learn about mulching, composting, pruning, harvesting and pressing cider.

Wassail the Orchards tomorrow, Saturday, January 4!

Come out to Good Courage Farm at 4:00 p.m. to keep the ancient tradition of blessing the orchards and singing to the trees. We’ll drink toasts and hang toasts for the birds, tromping through the apple orchards by torchlight.

DRESS FOR THE WEATHER. This gathering is entirely outdoors. There will be popcorn and warm beverages, but you’ll still want boots and mittens to keep yourself warm. RSVPs are helpful! Kids and youth are very welcome. PLEASE CARPOOL as you’re able to help with our limited winter parking space.

Feast of the Holy Innocents - December 28, 2024

On this day of mournful remembrance amidst the bright Christmas season, the Church recalls to mind the infants killed by Herod's rage. We weep with Rachel, with the mothers in Bethlehem this war-torn night, and with every grieving parent. We pray for the 14,500 innocent children who have been killed in Gaza, and for their families.

We who worship the Prince of Peace must call for peace everywhere. Let there be a humanitarian ceasefire in the Holy Land now. Let every child in the terrible path of bombs and bullets be shielded by God's peace. May that peace be made real in our actions.
