If you’ve ever driven down a country road at dusk, you know what it means to be alert. Your eyes scan the tree line, and your peripheral vision is tuned to the slightest movement because a single split second can make all the difference.

That is the kind of active preparedness Jesus describes in Mark 13. Spiritual alertness isn't about living in fear or anxiety; it’s about living with our eyes wide open, tuned to God's presence, and ready to serve Him every single day.
