🌎 Missions Monday 🌎
VBS begins today! While we often think of missions happening across the world, this week many of our NHBC women will be serving alongside other church members as missionaries right here in our own community.

Join us in praying for the children and families who will attend, for our volunteers as they serve, and for hearts to be open to the gospel.

May every moment of VBS—from the songs and games to the crafts and Bible stories—point children and their families to Jesus.

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John 8:12

✨ In the Word Wednesday ✨
Jesus still calls believers today just like He did in John 1:
Come and see.
Come and follow.
Come and die to self.
Go and make disciples.
Following Jesus is a daily surrender — laying down our own plans, fears, and desires to trust the One who is the Way. And when we truly die to self, we finally find real life in Him. 🤍
Aren’t you thankful Jesus stayed on the path all the way to the cross for us?

✨ In the Word Wednesday ✨
Big Idea: God calls us with purpose and with His presence.
Jeremiah 1:4-10 reminds us that before Jeremiah was even formed in the womb, God knew him, set him apart, and had a plan for his life. The same is true for us.
Jeremiah immediately focused on his weaknesses — “I’m too young” and “I can’t speak.” But his objections did not stop God’s plans. Our excuses, fears, and limitations do not surprise a sovereign God.
God simply called Jeremiah to go where He sent him and speak what He said.
So much of the Christian life is learning to trust God’s presence more than our own performance. We may not always understand His plan, but that does not mean there isn’t one. He is faithful to guide, equip, and remain with His people every step of the way. 🤍
What part of this passage encouraged or challenged you most this week? Or maybe… what excuse do you most often bring to God when He is calling you to trust Him more deeply?

🌍 Mission Monday 🌍
This week we’re highlighting missionaries The Rexius Family.
👇 Take a moment to read their story below and join us in praying for them this week.

Pray for our missionaries of the week, Sol and Lizzy Rexius.

Sol Rexius recently planted Generations Church in Eugene, Oregon, with his wife, Lizzy. Their passion is to reach people of all ages—especially college students—with the hope of Jesus.

They had long prayed Luke 10:2, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” That prayer came to life with Luke, who was their first baptism. After the service, Luke’s mom shared, “When I dropped off my son at college, I walked the campus and prayed he’d meet Jesus. I prayed that verse—Luke 10:2.”

God answered her prayer—and theirs. Despite assumptions that young adults aren’t interested in God, the Rexius family is witnessing lives transformed by the gospel.

PRAY God would raise up more laborers in Eugene to join what He is doing.

🌿 In the Word Wednesday (a little late today) 🌿
We may be a little late—but God’s Word is always right on time 💛
Our big idea:
Saved people are sent people.
In a world that can feel heavy and chaotic,
we’re reminded of this truth—
God is still on His throne. Today.
When Isaiah saw the Lord, everything changed.
He saw how holy God is…
and how much he needed Him.
But God didn’t leave him there.
His sin was forgiven.
He was made clean.
And then God asked,
“Whom shall I send?”
Isaiah simply said,
“Here I am. Send me.”
Not because he had it all together—
but because he was willing.
💛 Saved people are sent people.
Across the world… or right where we are.
As you go through your week,
may this be our prayer:
“Lord, show me who You are… and help me be willing to go.”

🌍 Missions Monday 🌍
As a church family, one of our goals for 2026 is to be more intentional in praying for missions—not just broadly, but with real-time needs straight from the field.
Today, we get to step into that together. 💛
Imagine packing up your entire life into just a few bags…
Walking through your home one last time…
Saying goodbye to the people you love, knowing it may be years before you see them again.
For 41 newly commissioned missionaries, this isn’t just something to imagine—it’s their reality right now.
They’ve stepped out in faith, leaving behind comfort and familiarity to take the gospel to the nations. And when they shared their needs…
They didn’t ask for ease. They asked for prayer.
🙏 Here are a few specific ways we can pray this week:
• Faithfulness and contentment in the calling
• A healthy delivery and smooth transition for a growing family
• Peace and adjustment for children moving overseas
• Strength in language learning and daily abiding in Christ
• Tender, steady hearts as families return to the field
They are doing the hard work of going—
we have the privilege of doing the hard work of praying.
Let’s lean into this church-wide goal and be faithful to lift them up this week.
As they release what’s familiar, may they hold tightly to the One who called them.
