PAKISTAN'S SUPREME COURT JUST SET FREE THE LAST MEN CONDEMNED FOR BURNING CHRISTIANS ALIVE

They were not activists. They were not preachers. They were bonded laborers.

Shahzad Masih, 26, and his wife Shama Bibi, 24, worked off a family debt at a brick kiln in Chak No. 59, Kot Radha Kishan, in Kasur District, Punjab Province. Shama was pregnant with their fourth child.

A relative had died, and Shama was clearing out the man's belongings and burning the trash.

Someone claimed pages of the Quran were in the pile.

That was the entire accusation.

Local mosque loudspeakers broadcast it across the area on the morning of November 4, 2014, and a crowd of roughly 500 to 600 people gathered at the kiln.

The couple ran and hid inside a small office on the property.

The mob tore the roof off to get to them.

They dragged Shahzad and Shama outside, beat them, and threw them both into the kiln furnace while they were still alive. Police later registered a case against 660 named and unidentified suspects.

Three children were left without parents.

Then came the courts. An anti-terrorism court sentenced five men to death in 2016. The Lahore High Court acquitted 102 defendants, then two more. On July 9, 2026, Pakistan's Supreme Court acquitted the final three and closed the case.

Twelve years, six hundred attackers, and not one conviction.

If burning a pregnant woman alive in front of hundreds of witnesses is not provable in a Pakistani courtroom, what exactly is?
