Last week, the congregation of Hillsborough Presbyterian Church awarded the L.E. and Mary Beard Scholarship to Isabell Roberson.
This annual scholarship was established in memory of former HPC members L.E. and Mary Beard, who placed a high value on education as a cornerstone of future success. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to a deserving high school senior to assist with the cost of higher education.
Isabella's high school activities and achievements have included the honor roll, the Minority Achiever Program and the Women's Catalyst Activists Club. Bella will be attending Appalachian State in the fall, where she hopes to major in Criminal Justice and eventually become an attorney in order to give a voice to people who need one.
Bella, we all wish you the best as you embark on the college adventure, and will look forward to updates!
