Sin affects all of us. But what happens when we choose our own way instead of God's way?

Join us this Sunday at Laurel Oak Christian Church as we continue our sermon series, “Romans,” with a challenging message titled “It Affects All of Us!” We’ll explore Romans 1:24–32 and examine what Paul teaches about sin, rebellion, God's patience, and the consequences of turning away from Him.

Sin is humanity's great struggle. God has given us His commands and revealed His truth, yet we often choose to follow our own desires and determine for ourselves what is right and wrong. Scripture reminds us that God allows us the freedom to make those choices—but our choices still have consequences.

As followers of Jesus, we are called to take sin seriously—not only in the world around us, but also in our own lives. Following Christ means continually examining our hearts, turning away from sin, and allowing God's Word to transform the way we think and live.

But how should Christians respond when we see sin around us? Romans reminds us that we are called to confront sin with both truth and love. We should never compromise God's truth, but neither should our response be without grace, compassion, and a desire to see people restored to God.

This message will challenge us to examine our own lives, recognize the seriousness of sin, understand its consequences, and live as faithful followers of Jesus who boldly proclaim God's truth while demonstrating His love.

Where did humanity go wrong? And what happens when we decide that our way is better than God's way?

Join us this Sunday at Laurel Oak Christian Church as we continue our new sermon series, “Romans,” with a message titled “Where It Went Wrong.” We’ll explore Romans 1:18–32 and examine what Paul teaches about humanity's rejection of God and the consequences of turning away from His truth.

From Adam and Eve in the Garden to the world we live in today, humanity has repeatedly chosen its own wisdom over God's. Although we were created by God and for God, sin has led us to exchange the truth of our Creator for our own desires and to live according to what we think is right rather than what God has revealed.

God gives us the freedom to choose. He does not force us to follow Him or obey His will. But Romans 1 gives us a serious warning about where those choices can lead when we continually reject God's truth.

Paul also challenges us to recognize the danger of calling evil good and good evil. In a culture where truth can be shaped by personal preference, popular opinion, or changing values, followers of Jesus are called to stand firmly on the truth of God's Word.

This message will challenge us to examine our own hearts, recognize the consequences of rejecting God, and remember why we desperately need the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
