PRACTICE WHAT YOU HEAR
Agreement is not the same as practice. Jesus’ words become a foundation when they move from something we hear into something we live.

JAMES 1:22 NIV
“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”

REFLECTION
Sunday’s message reminded us that hearing and agreeing are not the same as doing.

We can agree that forgiveness matters and still hold a grudge. We can agree that prayer matters and still stay too busy to pray. We can agree that Jesus is wise and still keep control of the decisions that matter most.

Jesus’ picture in Matthew 7 is simple: a strong foundation is built when His words move from something we hear into something we practice.

This is not about perfection. It is about direction — one faithful step at a time.

CONSIDER
Spiritual growth usually becomes real in ordinary decisions.

PRACTICAL STEP
Choose one teaching of Jesus and practice it today: forgive, serve, pray, tell the truth, make peace, give, listen, or apologize.

📖 Amos 5:24
“But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!”

God's desire has always been for faith to be more than words or religious routines. He calls His people to live lives marked by justice, integrity, compassion, and righteousness. Like a river that never runs dry, these qualities should continually flow from hearts that are devoted to Him.

When we pursue what is right, stand up for those in need, and reflect God's character in the way we treat others, we become a witness to His heart in our communities.

Today is a good day to let God's justice and righteousness flow through your words, your actions, and your relationships.

BEYOND SUNDAY
Hear the Words of Jesus

Matthew 7:24 NIV
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

Jesus ends the Sermon on the Mount with a picture that is easy to understand: two people building houses. But Jesus is not really talking about construction. He is talking about life. Every person is building something. We are building families, friendships, habits, schedules, careers, futures, and faith. The question is not whether we are building. The question is what we are building on.

Sunday’s message reminded us that both builders heard the words of Jesus. Hearing was not the difference between them. The difference was what they did with what they heard.

That is a helpful place to begin the week. Many of us hear Scripture on Sunday. We hear a sermon. We sing songs. We nod along. We may even agree with what was said. But Jesus’ picture presses a deeper question: will this become part of how we actually live?

A life built on Jesus is not built by hearing alone. It is built as His words become practice.

It is possible to respect Jesus’ words without rearranging life around them.

Choose one thing from Sunday’s message that stood out to you. Write it down somewhere you will see it today. Ask yourself, “What would it look like to practice this?”

Jesus, help us become people who listen carefully and respond honestly. Give us the courage to take what we hear from Your Word and carry it into everyday life.

📖 **Matthew 6:33**
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.”

Jesus invites us to reorder our priorities. It is easy to spend our lives chasing success, security, or the next thing we think will satisfy us. But He tells us to seek God's Kingdom first. When our hearts are centered on Him, everything else begins to find its proper place.

This is not a promise that we will receive everything we want. It is a promise that our Heavenly Father knows what we need and will faithfully provide as we trust Him and walk in His ways.

Today is a good day to put God first and trust Him with everything else.

📖 **2 Corinthians 3:17**
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

Freedom is one of the great gifts of God's presence. Not merely freedom from rules or obligations, but freedom from sin, guilt, shame, fear, and the things that keep us from becoming who God created us to be. The Holy Spirit works within us to bring life, transformation, and the freedom to walk in obedience and joy.

Many people spend their lives searching for freedom in circumstances, achievements, or possessions. This verse reminds us that true freedom is found in the presence of God.

Today is a good day to draw near to the Lord and experience the freedom that only His Spirit can bring.

**REWIND | Sunday Message**

Whatever poison the enemy has tried to use in your life — shame, addiction, fear, bitterness, regret, or lies — Jesus is the antidote.

This Sunday, we were reminded that Jesus does not ask us to clean ourselves up before coming to Him.

He gives us His Spirit.
He gives us grace.
He gives us healing.
He gives us purpose.

The same Jesus who pulls us out of the pit also sends us back out with hope to share.

**Hold on to Jesus. Stay the course. Let Him heal what the enemy tried to destroy.**
