We are saddened at the loss of our precious church member, Sis. Tina Stephens. She fought a good fight, and has now received a new body. Heaven is sweeter. Please keep her family in prayer.
McBee, SC
On May 21st, 2026, Tina Melissa Stephens entered into the gates of heaven, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and will miss her dearly.
Born to the late Jesse “Cheeseburger” Stephens and late Patsy Stephens of McBee, SC on January 24th, 1969, Tina loved her family more than anything else in this world and found simple joys in just spending time with the people she loved.
Her greatest pride and joy was her “baby boy”, Aaron Boykin, of McBee, S.C. They had an unbreakable bond filled with unconditional love for each other that words could never fully capture. Being his mother was the greatest blessing of her life and everyone around her knew how much she loved him.
Tina was the most proud and devoted sister to four brothers; Jamie (Angie) Stephens of Hartsville SC, David (Debbie) Stephens of Hartsville SC, Glen (Tracey) Stephens of McBee SC, Billy "Cotton" Atkinson of Hartsville, SC and to sisters who were her best friends, Dawn (Brad) Northcutt of Chesterfield SC and Betty Ann Powell of Pamplico, SC. Through every season of life, they stood beside one another with unwavering love, countless laughs, and the kind of closeness only siblings can understand.
Tina treasured her “babies” that were her nieces and nephews; Brittany, Haley, Carol Ann, Skylar, Bradley, Ryan, Austin, Marissa, and Patrick, including her many great-nieces and nephews. The love she had for them ran strong and brought her endless joy. Tina was also very blessed to have a number of close special friends and cousins who she thought the world of and loved dearly, especially Cindy Brown and Cheryl Burch. Tina has one surviving aunt, Hazel Gainey of Cheraw SC, that she also loved spending time with.
Tina had a laugh that would fill up a room. She enjoyed having fun and making memories by spending time with the people she loved most. You could often find her at her brother’s shop, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, a love she shared with her family. She was also a diehard South Carolina Gamecocks fan, and enjoyed spoiling her puppies, Bat-Man and Cheeseburger. Her favorite place to be was at the beach where she could enjoy the ocean with her family and friends.
Though her family grieves deeply, they can find comfort in knowing she is now completely healed and finally reunited with her mama and daddy, who she missed fiercely.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 3 o'clock on Sunday afternoon, May 24th, 2026, from Green Hill Church of God of Prophecy. Reverend Jerry Gainey will officiate with a committal following in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Also, the family will be meeting at 1704 Catawba Springs Drive, Hartsville. (Pine Ridge Community)
Norton Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to be with Mrs. Stephens’ family during this time.
