We enjoy the fact that our Minister is very animated, out-going, loving, and preaches life-application sermons that will enhance, help grow, and expand your outlook, love and life! Pastor Charles Kaighen and his wife Elaine, are the greatest duo that I have ever experienced in the history of church attendance I have experienced, and I was a full time musician to thousands of churches!
Pastor and Mrs. Kaighen are the most friendly and conversational! They truly have unconditional love and understanding, expert advice and counsel, as well as the deepest Bible knowledge! Mrs. K works amazing with children, and Bible songs, verses she has put into music, and are wonderful with examples, illustrations and hands on teachings.
The sermons are very clear, in order, organized, and very easy to understand and is not the style of “over-your-head” preaching. It is as if he is speaking directly in love to you alone, to help inspire you to become a better individual, help inspire you when discouraged and helps to bring you right before the throne and presence of God! He is very expressive to the point it is hilarious, his comments sometimes hilarious, yet he can be serious, and moving! he has youthful energy so he can really identify with young and old!
This church (though over 35 years established with the same Pastor and wife) is far from stale, old or out-dated!
Music:
Although there are traditional hymns, there are also newly written music to Bible verses we sing every week! This helps you to know the Word of God in song! Our pastor’s wife has the God-given ability to write her own music to many scriptures, and choruses. We also have a second book she has made of very popular old time favorite adoration and inspirational choruses and songs that may not be in your songbook!
We have a small orchestra: I love the orchestra! Trumpets, clarinets, violins, tuba, pianos, and saxophones, you will truly feel and pour out praise to the Lord without distraction! The pastor and others also play guitar on occasion.
Community Involvement:
Grace Baptist is always on the move with community parades, VBS, teen outings, Discipleship, Bible Courses, Sunday Schools, Songs and specials, Mission Conferences, Revivals, special speakers, and Bus Ministries.
The People:
Even though our church is very eventful, and always on the move, people are loving, interacting, and we love food and fellowship! I love that Sunday school we always have a little snack each family brings! I love that the Sunday School isn’t simply another sermon, but print offs where you feel in the blanks, read from the Bible in topical ways that enhance your spiritual life, and increase your Biblical knowledge! It’s very amazing.
The nursery workers are very sweet and LOVE children. They make sure that the nursery is fresh new and clean, as well as making sure the parent has a pager and their number to text if something is needed, so you feel like you still have connection to your little one. Each Sunday School and Junior Church is “grade” or “age” based so it’s not all of them all lumped together of all ages. Each lesson is geared to their level.
Ages old and young attend here, so you can feel warm and welcomed no matter what age that you are, and the building’s structure alone adds to the worship experience.
Come to serve the Lord, to worship, to praise, to serve, to grow! It’s all at Grace Baptist Church!
