Are You A Reflection of God?

Did you know each of us, as Christians should be a reflection of God in our everyday lives? How do we do this? Well, it takes practice. We have to learn how to fear God. The fear God wants for us to have for Him is not a fear that makes us ashamed to go to Him, but instead we should have a healthy respect for Him as the God and the Father that He is to us. As we study His word and learn more about Him, we will begin to understand the relationship that He wants between Him and His children.
As we begin to take the knowledge and understanding from His Word and apply it to our lives, others will begin to see Him working through our lives. His Word refines us and makes us more like Him.
In Malachi 3:3 it says, "And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord and offering in righteousness."
God refines each of us through prayer and study of His Word. When a silversmith refines his silver, he can't leave it unattended as it heats in the fire. He knows if it is left too long, it would be destroyed.
God doesn't leave us alone. He watches and waits patiently until His work with us is complete. Just as the silversmith knows that the silver is pure and finished when he sees his reflection in it, the same goes with God. We're not finished until God can see His reflection in us.
In Matthew 16:24 it says, "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." To follow Jesus means we have to be like Him, and do the things He commands us to.
Since Jesus was a reflection of His Father, then we should be a reflection of Christ in everything that we do. We should be asking ourselves daily, do others see God's reflection in us?

The question was asked of Jesus, "Who can be saved?" God gave His Son to die so that all who come to Him and believe can be saved through repentance, water baptism and by receiving His Holy Spirit. Through Jesus is the only way to eternal life.
