Hannah’s Heart is a Calvary ministry that seeks to provide Christ-centered support and encouragement for those who are experiencing miscarriage or the loss of an infant. They offer confidential spiritual and emotional support through a telephone call or a personal visit from a Hannah’s Heart Team Member; materials and resources for families dealing with the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of losing an infant; a Keepsake Bag, containing educational materials and special momentos; a resource list of books and websites recommended for those dealing with the physical, emotional and spiritual issues of grief associated with infant death; and an increasing awareness and sensitivity in the church for those who are grieving the death of an infant. At the end of September, Calvary's International Ministry hosted its first monthly The Global Table event. Around 150 people attended from at least 20 different ethnic backgrounds. Did you know - for the past few months, a team from Calvary has driven up to Baldwin monthly, to minister to vulnerable people at the Northlake ICE Detention Center. You are invited to join their visits scheduled for the second Saturday of each month. You will receive training prior to the visit time that will help equip the team. Their October team is full, but email Lana Duoibes ([email protected]) to be part of their visit in November.

What can the church offer a hurting world? How does Jesus meet us in our pain? As followers of Jesus, we have a choice – to be worn down by the darkness of this hurt and pain, or to bear witness to a hope that brings light to today and vision to the future. This year, God has led us to walk through the Old Testament book of Jeremiah on Sunday mornings. In this series, we will answer questions like these and see how the hope of Jesus can redeem people lost in wickedness and bring flourishing in the midst of suffering.
