James presents to believers God’s wisdom applied to our lives. Both those of low and high earthly status are to rejoice because of their position in Christ. Those of low status can have joy even in their circumstances because they have spiritual abundance in Christ. Those of high status can have joy in humbly recognizing that while their earthly power will fade, they too have deliverance and salvation in Christ.

Satisfaction and contentment are found only in Christ. In Him are the true and eternal spiritual riches!

What is a Christian? One who confesses Jesus Christ as God, receives new life in Him, and follows Jesus.

Jesus is God’s appointed Messiah, the Christ - Prophet, Priest, & King. If you are a Christian, do you hear His voice first, submitting to His Word and instruction? Do you depend upon Jesus’ atoning sacrifice alone to be cleansed and consecrated to God? Do you acknowledge you need Jesus as King to govern your heart, preserve your new life, and give you the victory over sin & death?
Jesus is this Christ. Approach God through Him by faith, confess Him, and follow this true Savior!

Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.

The mark of a person brought to maturity in Christ is that he or she demonstrates wisdom. Wisdom grows when we seek God in our trials, recognizing our own foolishness & weakness. We must ask him to teach us how to respond so that we adapt our lives to His truth, found in Jesus Christ.

God is Wisdom; He displays His wisdom in the way that Christ worked our salvation… resurrection life through the atoning death of the cross, exaltation after suffering with obedience. Seek God’s way through your difficulties in life, asking Him in faith to provide wisdom for your circumstances. Take hold of Jesus Christ by faith - the Father will provide!

What kind of savior is Jesus? He is the only one who can provide salvation from sin, our deepest need.

As in the miracle of the healing of the man who was paralyzed, Jesus is able to address our most essential need for the forgiveness of sins to reconcile us with God. He not only delivers from sin but also delivers from the power & effects of sin. Jesus showed this in healing the body of the paralyzed man. Though in this life we do not always receive physical healing, yet all those in Christ are made spiritually new creatures, enabled to walk with God and praise Him. Trust in God, even in sickness & trials, looking only to Jesus for full salvation!
