And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Forgiveness from God is a great gift of His grace, a miracle. First, we have to know our own sin for what it is. We cannot deny, avoid, or attack to try to escape God or the consequences of our sin. We must place ourselves under His judgment and seek His mercy and forgiveness in the blood of Jesus Christ.

Do not flee from God; rather, the only way of hope & redemption is to flee to Him, confess your evil, and ask for the covering of Christ’s sacrifice. This needs to be part of our daily rhythm of life in our relationship with God. When you experience the goodness of God’s forgiveness, show this to others also who seek your forgiveness. This is living as Jesus lived.

But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

1 Peter 3:14-16

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners? - Song of Solomon 6:10

Naomi returns to Judah after the famine, back to her home of Bethlehem. She came after a time of intense suffering & hardship, feeling her place was gone and she was empty. In her pain, she also drifts into an attack upon God and claims bitterness as her identity.

However, she was forgetting the goodness of God. He had not destroyed but preserved her, provided all she needed, and now had brought her back to Bethlehem. Further, God was working to literally bring about her salvation through Ruth. Naomi is the object of God’s favor & love.

This is the truth of Jehovah God. He is good to all believers, turning even their desert lands into a blessing under His sovereign hand.

The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with. - Proverbs 17:14

Pentecost was originally a celebration of the blessings God gave to His people. Jesus fulfilled this Old Testament ceremony by the pouring out of His Spirit on this day. The saving benefits of the work of Christ were applied to His people at Pentecost.

Even as the gathering of the 120 disciples when the Spirit was given, so are those in the church today are weak & insignificant, incapable of fulfilling the Great Commission. But at Pentecost Jesus came to His followers in His Spirit & power, with salvation & cleansing, and for the gospel and His kingdom to be spread to all nations. Rely on the Holy Spirit in everything, in all of your efforts!

The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.

Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD:

This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.

I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.

- Psalm 118:18-21

Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.

Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.
