What are you seeking first? God teaches us that in Zechariah's prophecy that our first priority needs to be His kingdom. Our focus should be the Messianic kingdom of righteousness.

We are not able to establish this kingdom ourselves. But God is righteous, and He will fulfill His promises. Our King is coming!

As spiritual pilgrims traveling through this world, our focus is to be on Christ our guide, help, and strength. Psalm 121 points us toward God’s character & power. Jehovah is Almighty, but He is also the perfect, faithful Keeper. He is able to preserve all who belong to Him by faith, not losing or casting out one.

Though there are many dangers on this spiritual pilgrimage, there is no one so safe as one whom Jesus keeps.

Though Naomi was bitter of soul, she came to see and experience the kindness of God toward her and her whole family. She came to understand that God is a God of rich, faithful, covenantal kindness.

Boaz shows a beautiful example of Christ-like love in his kindness toward Ruth and her family. Even as Christ, he loved at expense to himself, without expectation, and with overflowing generosity. Further, Boaz gives an example of the greater redemption that Christ accomplishes in saving His people from misery & death. Trust in Jehovah, and wait on Him!

We often fall into the wrong attitude in prayer, trying to change God with our requests. Our prayers rather must be in submission to God, with faith and confidence praying as He has taught us ~ according to His promises and purposes.

This certainty in prayer comes from knowing that God is King. The kingdom belongs to Him, and the blood of Christ grounds and guarantees everything that He is doing. All power belongs to God also, of which He grants as we ask. And all the glory is His. Seek Him with humility and faith!
