The following is statement following the US/Israel attack on Iran on Sat. Feb 28. As war has ensued, the statement is a call to the church. From UCC President and General Minister, Rev. Dr. Karen Georgia Thompson:
“We call for an end to the abuse of government might that is poured out on people who are not the ones making decisions yet bear the brunt of the ensuing violence, casualties of actions they do not support.”
The United Church of Christ’s General Minister and President/CEO, the Rev. Dr. Karen Georgia A. Thompson, issued a statement condemning the bombing of Iran by the United States and Israel, and urged people of faith to continue to call on elected officials to reject war.
