Trinity Reformed Church of The United Church of Christ

Trinity Reformed Church of The United Church of Christ We are a community of extravagant welcome! We feed the hungry, house the homeless, and teach youth to be peacemakers.

We believe that each person we come in contact with is a beloved child of God, and strive to treat each person as such. We are a small church of believers who are passionately committed to living out the Bibles call to care for those in need. We gather weekly for worship and Bible study which equip us for a life of service in the week ahead. We are less inclined to ask people to join existing prog

rams, and more interested in helping each believer discover ways to use their own time and talents to serve their neighbor.

Join us for worship in-person or online Sunday at 10:15. We will be holding a special service to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the fire that destroyed Trinity's sanctuary and the spirit that led us to rebuild!

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you -John 14:26

Dear Church Family,

It's good to be reminded that we're not on our own. Jesus gave the words above to the disciples in the time that he was preparing them for his eventual departure from this world. He was assuring them that even though they wouldn't be able to see him, the things that they most needed - the support that they desired & reminders of Christ's teachings - would still be flowing to them in abundance.

God's support is with us...every day, unfailing. God's goodness and mercy and love follow us everywhere we go. We are cradled every single day by our creator. We are never on our own.

Be good to yourselves and each other
John

PS - I'm going to be leaving for Millersville tomorrow & then vacation, so I might not be able to post for a little while, but the messages will be back as soon as I return :)

Now there are varieties of gifts but the same Spirit, and there are varieties of services but the same Lord, and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. -1 Corinthians 12:4-6

Dear Church Family,

We are a blessed people. So many gifts, so many opportunities, so many ways that we are made unique and distinct.

Sometimes I think that we spend too much time on what we don't have or what we can't do when, really, we need to be giving glory to God for the things that we can't do just as much as the things that we can. No, that wasn't a typo...I think that it's important for us to acknowledge the things that we can't do simply because it is in these things that we recognize just how important it is to be a part of a community. We rely on each other for the things that we can't do on our own. It makes us appreciate the gifts of others just as much as the gifts that we have been granted.

We need other people. Other people need us. We need each other & we need God together. We have been created with so many gifts and so many opportunities to give thanks for the gifts that others bring to this amazing life that we share.

Be good to yourselves and each other
John

Church Family,

As I write this, the birds outside my window seem to be having a convention. It started with one or two little chirps and has grown to a beautiful conversation of many. Sometimes as I listen to them, I wonder what they might be saying to each other. Whatever they're saying, at the moment it seems to be something worth talking about...and for me, not knowing the language, it is simply a joyful noise landing on my ears & making my heart smile a little bit.

I hope you find something that helps to make your heart smile today.

Be good to yourselves and each other

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline -2 Timothy 1:7

Dear Church Family,

The faith that we share is one of deep, deep love. It tells us that we need to love God and neighbor and take good care of ourselves along the way. It tells us that we are a forgiven people who need to also take part in offering forgiveness to others. It tells us that we are all children of God, unique, yet made in the image of God. ...and it tells us to not be timid.

Be bold in compassion
Be diligent in working for justice.
Be extravagant in welcome.
Be generous in kindness.
Be persistent in prayer.
Be lavish in love.

Be good to yourselves and each other
John
