Proverbs 17:22
A joyful heart is good medicine but a crushed Spirit dries up the bones

Have you ever started the day in a really good mood, only for it to be ruined by someone else with a sour attitude? That is what this verse is talking about. When we are good to people, especially when we do not feel like it, that kindness can have a powerful impact on their emotions, as well as ours. Being kind often goes hand in hand with denying ourselves in some way, whether it means choosing to talk to a friend instead of watching tv, or just pulling ourselves about of a pile of self-pity in order to be a welcoming face for our spouses or friends. God uses these moments to teach us selflessness; a tiny reflection of what Jesus did for us. Employing a kind spirit is honoring to god, a blessing to those around us, and refining maturity for ourselves.

Thank you Lord for your love your kindness and your mercy on us. Please be with us as we go throughout our days to reflect a joyful attitude towards others and ourselves. Thank you Lord for all that you do. Amen

Ephesians 6:16
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Faith is confident trust based in the faithful nature and promises of god. Faith can move mountains, but it can also keep destructive forces from overtaking our lives. Let's put our faith in the trustworthiness of our great god. He is our savior, our help, and our redeemer. There is nothing he cannot do. Though the Earth shakes and dream shatter, his redemptive love is untouchable. The promises of God are yes and amen, and they cannot be canceled.

Dear Lord, we take up the shield of faith and place all our attention on who you are and what you are able to do. We do not lean on our understandings or what we can do. We leave it with you Lord. For you are faithful. Thank you for Your love and Your mercy and Your grace. Amen

Acts 17:27
That did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any of us.

There's a chance to start over - every day if we need to. From the inside out, we can be transformed and our hearts renewed. We can essentially remake ourselves with the help, healing, and transformative nature of Christ! Jesus died on the cross and promise us a life free from the bo***ge of sin, free from hopelessness, free from any chains that try to trap us. In christ, we are set free.

Dear Lord we just ask for your voice to just permeate the deepest, saddest part of us. We know that You love us, and take care of us. We know that if we bring our problems to You, only You can break those chains and set us free. Thank You Lord for Your Love, Your mercy, Your Grace. We love you Lord. Amen

Ephesians 4:31-32
Get rid of all bitterness, ragin anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

The fruit of the spirit leads to growth and goodness. Bitterness does no one any good. It eats away at the reserve of loving compassion in our hearts and puts our own ideas of Justice at the forefront.

It is for our good that the word instructs us to let bitterness go. When we choose to follow in the way of christ, saying yes to his love and his leadership, we give up the need to hold on to such things. Though forgiveness, grace, and peace are not always easy to choose in the moment, they are for our good and the good of others.

Dear Lord, we choose to put away the bitterness, the anger, and the judgment. We choose Your compassion, Your grace, and Your kindness instead. We thank you Lord for loving us so much that you made it possible for us to start each day new. Thank you Lord for your love and mercy and Grace. Amen
