Ever feel the pressure to change someone’s mind about Jesus in one conversation?

Maybe it’s a friend who doesn’t believe in God, a sibling who sees Jesus as only a moral teacher, or a coworker who says the Bible is just myth. If that’s you, you’re not alone.

Here’s a freeing thought: you don’t have to start by correcting them. Start by getting on the same side of the table. Agree where you honestly can, then ask a real question that helps them think.

What’s one belief you’ve been afraid to engage because you didn’t know what to say?

Have you ever felt like a conversation about faith turns into a debate the moment it starts?

When someone says, “The New Testament was made up,” or “If God exists, why so much suffering?” it’s tempting to correct them fast. But starting as opponents usually shuts things down.

What if the first move isn’t to challenge, but to agree with what you genuinely can?

Try: “I can see why you’d think that.” Or, “You’re right—there’s a lot of pain in the world.” Then ask a question.

What’s the hardest topic for you to discuss without getting defensive?
