What if the key to living a life fully surrendered to God is not trying harder, but seeing more clearly?

Romans 12:1 opens with one of the most weighty words in all of Scripture: 'therefore.' But what makes it so powerful is what comes right after it. Before Paul ever asks us to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, he anchors everything in a view of God's mercies, and notice that word is plural.

We are not responding to a single act of grace but to an overwhelming, abundant, layered outpouring of mercy that covers our justification, our redemption, our reconciliation, our adoption, and so much more. The invitation here is not to perform for God but to respond to him.

When we lose sight of what he has already done, worship becomes exhausting and obedience feels like a burden. But when our eyes are flooded with the reality of his grace, offering everything we are begins to feel not just possible but reasonable, even intelligent.
