Vietnamese 5:00pm John XXIII Parish came into existence on January 4, 2002. The Noonan Academy generously shared their facility with us during the planning and building of our church. Our first Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 12, 2002. Plans for the new Church were undertaken almost immediately after our first weeken

d of liturgies. On March 1, 2002, we were canonically erected as a parish. On June 20, 2002, the initial preliminary plans for our new Church building were put on display and shared for the first time with our parishioners. The initial plans were changed to establish a Church with 1350 seats plus 300 more in the Chapel area. A ground breaking ceremony was held on April 23, 2003. On December 25, 2004, Christmas Day, a Mass was celebrated in a tent on the Church property. On Holy Thursday, March 24, 2005, the long awaited certificate of occupancy was received and Mass that evening was celebrated in the main nave of the Church. The Church was formally dedicated on April 9, 2005. Robert Tabbert is the pastor of the parish.

Prayer of Remembrance for 9/11:
God of compassion, we remember the sorrow of this day. We hold in prayer the innocent lives lost. We honor the courage of first responders. We lift up families who still grieve. Lord Jesus, you embraced the Cross of human suffering. You know our fear, our pain, our loss. Let your mercy bring healing and hope. Let your love overcome hatred and division. Holy Spirit, breathe peace into our world. Strengthen us to walk the way of compassion. Make us witnesses of the Cross of Christ. May love be the last word, now and forever. Amen.

PLEASE NOTE:
The Saturday, September 12 Mass takes place in the Church at 8:46am instead of 8:00am. Confessions will be held from 9:45am 10:45am in the Chapel.

All are welcome to join us for the 25th year of the 9/11 observance, on Saturday, September 12 at 8:46am in the church.

This Blue Mass will include the LCSO Honor Guard, Ancient Order of Hibernians, bag piper, active duty firefighters, law enforcement officers and EMS.

Following Mass, there will be a short ceremony in the Memorial Garden at the 9/11 monument where taps will be sounded.

Exhibits of EMS, Law Enforcement and Firefighting equipment will be outside near the Youth Center until approximately 12:00pm (noon)
